This section of the program provides an opportunity for supervised clinical application of Clean Language questions. Participants can assess their skills by asking Clean Language Questions. Each participant will be expected to demonstrate a disciplined use of language when working with a fellow participant to: Formulate a want matrix Identify the thought or feeling word and translate it into an Epistemological Metaphor Identify when synchronic questions are asked to develop information and when diachronic questions are asked to mature information Discuss the experience from the client participant’s perspective to map progress. Bringing metaphors together to create a resolution Demonstrate how to work with metaphors of dissociation and fragmentation Compare and contrast the participant’s experience following a Clean Language Session Discuss the choices of questions asked by the participants and to identify additional questions that can be asked Participants will articulate the differentiation between a Clean Language session and their more familiar therapeutic modalities and identify how to select an approach for specific problems. Cei Davies Linn’s partnership with David Grove, inventor of innovations such as Clean Language and Epistemological Metaphors, spanned three decades, and they worked together on the evolution and development of their innovative work. Together they conducted workshops and retreats that included travelling to the four corners of the earth. Their collaboration also resulted in a series of training materials for professional counsellors. Later, on the recommendation of R.D.Laing with whom they occasionally co-presented, David and Cei also ran a retreat and seminar centre for ten years in Eldon, Missouri. Previously Cei has been a registered nursing sister and went on to hold the post of Senior Psychotherapist at St Andrew’s Hospital, Northampton. She currently lives in Northamptonshire where she works clinically and writes. She continues her travels and lectures peripatetically.
