Kayaking assessment and you
• You will need to know:– Explain communication signals when
shown.– Describe features which make up a grade
2 rapid and what white water is harder.– How to swim through a rapid.– How to scout and paddle a grade 2 rapid.– How throw bag rescues work.
• In pairs or threes read through your assigned A3 sheet.
• Come up with 5-7 questions, write them around the outside of the information sheet.
• Groups to move around each A3 sheet and try to answer the questions in their own books.
• Review of answers.

a swimmer and boat– Explain what communication signals are
used and what they mean.– Describe methods to avoid health issues.
