Good Afternoon Family! Happy Happy New Year to you all! I pray that you had a wonderful and safe
holiday and that you have a blessed and prosperous New Year filled with lots of service! As always I
would first like to thank God for the opportunity to be of service and the Capital Area for allowing me to
continue my recovery process by serving this Area. To all new GSR's, "Welcome" we need you. We have
5 months left of this term of service before we elect new trusted servants, I encourage everyone to
begin thinking about the area of service you would like to participate in as well as getting with those
that are currently serving and ask questions to familiarize yourselves with the requirements if you are
not sure what they are. Again, please be reminded that our CAR report is available and there will be a
work shop scheduled on Saturday February gth at the Men's Healing Place. Our RCM will provide you
with detailed information regarding the time and what can be expected.
Thank you all for your continued willingness and commitment to serve this Area!

PUBLIC RELATIONS/PUBLIC INFORMATION- SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT
The Public Information subcommittee is responsible for making sure that addicts know about Narcotics Anonymous and where to find us. We do this by doing presentations to the public, maintaining the Area website, maintaining a phone line, doing poster drives etc.
All functions of the PI committee are in going as usual. We are still in need of a poster drive coordinator. We also still need all of our alternates including an alternate PI Chair.
Meeting directories are here. An address change was made for the Spiritually High Group. Their new address is Trinity United Methodist Church 824 N. Bloodworth Street.
The website is doing well.
We continue to do a regular email newsletter/eblast that contains current events and information. To sign up, you can email [email protected] or do so on our website by clicking on the "Area Newsletter" tab on the navigation bar which is on the left side of our website.
We will be doing a poster drive this Saturday, January 11th at 10:00am. We are meeting at the Taco Bell parking lot at the intersection of Maynard Road and Kildaire Farm Road in Cary. We will be canvassing Cary and Apex.
We have another poster drive scheduled for Mc<Vc:Vt fb-l'JJ f ltl W/f~C/V?· M c-t/my er/- / O:tba(v.

A weather reminder, with it being as cold as it has been so far this year, keep in mind that, should it snow, the Capital Area PR/PI subcommittee is a valuable resource for getting information out such as meeting cancelations, delays, etc.

CAPITAL AREA CONVENTION COMMITTEE MONTHLY REPORT FORM
DATE: January 5, 2014
TRUSTED SERVANT POSITION: Convention Information Chair
PERSON SUBMITTING REPORT: Stephanie G.
OLD BUSINESS/CONCERN:
1) Website information: I need to confirm all dates/times for future fundraising events.
The current flyer needs to be corrected if any changes. Additionally, it is strongly
suggested that a corrected flyer needs to give location addresses and specific times of
events. Calendar reflects what's on the current flyer, but CONVENTION ITSELF is not
listed in calendar. I would also like to submit the deadline dates for graduated
registration fees.
NEW BUSINESS OR CONCERN:
1) Submitting today receipts for reimbursement to me by Peay totaling $54.14: $46.00 for
roll of 100 stamps to mail fundraising and convention flyers throughout NC and USA;
$5.58 for 2 boxes of envelopes for mailings; $2.56 for Kinkos to duplicate the New Year's
Gala flyers for mailing to all NA area service offices in Capital Area's surrounding area
(those for whom email addresses are non-existent or unavailable).
2) Website: need flyers for all events upcoming through March 2014 in next 2 weeks. I will
scan and forward them to Area Website trusted servants (Sean and Joe), as well as
distribute them throughout the North Carolina Region and to Triangle therapeutic
community centers. Also need to clean up website so flyers for events that have already
occurred are removed from the site.
3) CLARIFY that for all fund raisers, if there is a $5 dance fee, the therapeutic community
fee will be $25 for each 8 attendees; how much per person if less than 8 people?
4) Is there going to be a therapeutic community convention registration rate? If so, at what
point does discount take effect (how many people)? And, is there one discount rate
BEFORE April 2014 and ANOTHER if at the door in June?
5) Men/Women's Rap results for January 4, 2014 re: flyer distribution, attendance results,
and organization of the event.
6) Comment re: "welcoming" and "attraction rather than promotion".
