Glass fins, full height or cantilevered, areused in place of conventional metal mullions tobrace the system and transfer wind load andseismic forces to the structure by providing sup-port along each vertical glass joint.

Depending on specific dimensions, mainplateglass can span the height of an opening in a sin-gle lite or in multiple lites. Specially engineeredsplice plate assemblies or spider fittings can jointhe mainplates to the fins. Tension StructuresISG's Tension Structures are designed to support the glassfacade or mainplate glass. The versatility of this systemallows for a vertical and/or horizontal truss support. It can bedesigned to project subtle elegance or strength of line.Standard systems are available, and custom systems can bedesigned as required. Tension Structures are an efficientmeans to carry loads. Whether used to brace wall structures,canopies or roof structures, our system of connection allowsfor easy assembly and installation onsite.

These systems have been tested to wind pressure equivalentsof cyclone, hurricane or typhoon conditions withouture. Our use of computer-aided programs with scaleand full-sized test models ensure that the designedneering and materials used will meet rigorous perfoand safety standards.

As an integral part of many of ourengineered systems, ISG's glass support fittings add theassurance of durability and the flair of stylish design.Fabricated from 31 6-alloy stainless steel, ISG's fittings areavailable in a variety of finishes from the maintenance freestandard finishes of satin and polished stainless steel tocustom powder-coated, solid brass and gold-plated finishes.This hardware can be used with glass ranging in thicknessfrom 1/4" - 1-9/16" thick or used with insulated glass. Anticipating the needs of tomorrow, ISG conducts ongoingresearch, development and testing. This process masterfullyvalidates the accomplishments of inspired designers andarchitects. Our goal, in part is to allow the imagination tofreely explore creative, multiform applications for glass, whileensuring their safety and performance. ISG's testing processunderscores the benefit of constructing with glass.

* Our standard systems are tested by an independenttesting agency. This process independently validates andverifies our system design performance criteria. Standard testprocedures conform to many ASTM, AAMA, ANZI and otherspecifications. Standard testing procedures include many ofthe following:

* Static and Dynamic Water Testing

* Structural Performance

* Thermal Performance

* Accelerated Age Testing

Innovative methods of engineering, fabrication and finishingof the glass are tested in custom applications. This processexpands the possibilities of creative architecture. Workingtogether with our experienced design team, truly createsbuilding solutions in glass.
