RICHARD L. ANTES

Richard L. Antes is a professor in the School of Education at Indi- ana State University in Terre Haute, where he teaches graduate courses in research, measurement, and evaluation. A former junior high school teacher, Antes has served in administrative and teaching positions in five Midwest universities. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Ohio University; his doctorate is fmm Southern Illinois University.

He is co-author with Charles D. Hopkins of Classroom Testing: Administration, Scoring, andScore Interpretation (1979), Classroom Testing: Construdon, Second Edition (1989), Classroom Measure- ment and Evaluation, lhird Edition (in press), and Educational Re- search: A Structure for Inquiry (in press). His recent monographs include Teacher Education Admission Testing: Development and Im- plementation and The Classroom Teacher's Role in Student Self- Concept Development, the latter co-authored with Carole A. Antes.

His research interests include motor development, extended kin- dergarten, reading programs, and transformation-formation logic. He has published several articles on these topics in professional journals.

Antes is a member of the American Educational Research Associ- ation, the National Council on Measurement in Education, and Phi Delta Kappa.
