To read total copies: Hold down STOP/RESET key for 5 sec. Display will show F23 And will display total count. Copy quality adjustment: See user mode and simulations. Drum replacement: Remove imaging unit by doing the following: Remove cassette and open front door, bypass door and paper conveying unit. Remove toner and waste toner bottler, remove 2 screws Holding waste toner cover and 1 screw holding developer retainer. Remove 2 screws from image unit and slide out image unit. Remove charge corona by removing 1 screw in front and removing. Remove drum blade spring, 2 screws in the front and 2 screws in the rear of the cleaner unit and rotate cleaner unit away from the developer unit to access drum (revision 12/31/04)*. Open cleaning unit and put a spacer in at rear to hold the blade away from the drum. Remove screws in front that hold drum ground plate and remove plate. Remove e-ring from drum shaft. Remove 1 screw for upper developer seal and remove seal. Slide out drum shaft. Lift out drum. New drum will have a letter code on it. Write down this number to enter in simulation 109. After installing drum and reassembling machine, do simulations U109,U110,U11.
Developer replacement & calibration: Remove drum as described above. Remove 1 screw and washer. Lift 3 hooks upward and slide DV unit section cover off. Empty developer and replace. Service manual says you can leave drum installed. Perform maintenance mode 130.
