Participants should read Judge Pillay's four articles published in De Rebus from the end of 2007 to early 2008 on effective writing of sentences, paragraphs and documents and choosing effective words. New examples and practical exercises will elaborate on the lessons in the four articles. A brief section on grammar and punctuation will take the form of a self test. Participants are urged to collect and bring to the lecture their own examples of common mistakes and poor writing for discussion.
