Fishbones Stimulation Technology (FST) provides a method to stimulate reservoirs with simplicity, accuracy and efficiency and offers a welcomed alternative to traditional stimulation methods such as hydraulic fracturing. FST is simple to use and saves time and resources. The system is installed as a part of a traditional production liner with Fishbones tools positioned to allow optimal connectivity with the zones of desired stimulation. A large number of small diameter tubes (needles) jet or drill out simultaneously from the wellbore to penetrate the reservoir, creating numerous micro-laterals. The full operation can be completed in less than 12 hours and does not require specialized fluids or pumps. The primary application for this technology is to stimulate well production by connecting the wellbore to the reservoir with as many as 300 laterals of length up to the 12 meters (40 ft.). The micro-laterals drain layers or faults while vastly increasing the effective wellbore radius which in turn increases production rate and recovery. FST is available for both carbonate and sandstone formations.

The Fishbones technology brings several benefits; the main benefits are highlighted below:

• Vertical Connectivity - The Fishbones laterals connect to layers above and below the wellbore, which is key in carbonate reservoirs with low kv/kh. The drawdown can also be reduced.

• Increased Productivity - In tight to medium tight reservoirs Fishbones provides deep stimulation, connects to natural fractures and is essentially increasing the effective wellbore radius.

• Bypass Formation Damage - The Fishbones laterals can extend up to 40 ft. into the formation, far beyond the damaged zone.

• Access Natural Fracture Network - By extending numerous micro-laterals into the formation, oil is easily drained by connecting the wellbore to the reservoir’s natural fractures.

• Controlled Reach - The Fishbones subs are spaced to allow stimulation in the desired zones. The length of the micro-laterals is controlled to avoid stimulation into undesirable zones.

• Improved Safety - Fishbones stimulation involves no explosives.

One of the appealing features of IWTT is that at the first tracer breakthrough in a producer, immediate and unambiguous information on the injector – producer communication is given. In cases with several sources of injection fluids, tracers yield unique information on the origin of fluids. Through history-matching of tracer production curves reservoir models are up-dated and improved. Restrack provides the largest suite of water and gas tracers, which has been qualified through extensive laboratory studies and field trials. Our tracer analysis methods are measuring tracers in extremely low concentrations, which secure reliable results even in huge reservoir where the dilution factor is very high.

SWCTT – SWCTT is our specific method to measure near well residual oil saturation, connate water saturation, to evaluate EOR potential for low salinity, polymer and surfactants. This technology is a refinement of the standard methodology where a partitioning and reacting tracer is injected, left for a soaking period and then back-produced.

PITT – Our novel Partitioning Interwell Tracer Test (PITT) technique is used for measurement of inter-well (injector to producer) remaining oil saturation. The technology is using patented chemical tracers that distribute between the oil and the water phase in a predictable way. The tracers can be injected into an injection well in a similar operation as for traditional inter-well tracers, during normal operation of the water injector, without carrying out complicated well operations. The PITT technology can be utilized both to measure the SOR in the swept zone after traditional water injection and to measure the effect of an EOR treatment in either an inter-well pilot or a full field implementation. Compared to the SWCTT method, the PITT method will measure in a larger volume of the reservoir and it would be a natural inclusion in upscaling of an EOR pilot.
