GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES

I. List of Enclosures for Registration

8. Correct Address for correspondence is to be written or typed neatly and

legibly by the candidate on all the six address slips provided and enclosed

along with the application at the time of submission.

Note:

The Admission, Examination application formats can also be downloaded from

website: www.kuvempuuniversitydde.org. Candidates who use the

downloaded format should add Rs. 150/- extra along with their fees for

admission towards the application fees.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

1. After admission is confirmed, an acknowledgment card is issued. Candidates

must quote the Enrollment / Registration Number, Course and the Exam, forwhich registration is sought. In addition to the above in any furthercorrespondence for exam or any academic purpose the Admission Numberallotted should be mentioned.

2. Application for admission registration should be submitted to The Director,

Directorate of Distance Education, Kuvempu University, along with thenecessary certificates, on or before the last date fixed for the purpose. (seeAcademic Calendar of Events) The penal fee will be paid along with theregistration fee. The fees to be paid should be in the form of Challan ofElectronic Transfer (See details at Para 6 below or Para 2 of GeneralInstructions). The Challan should be enclosed along with the application formas stated above.

3. The prospectus for any concerned admission during a particular year including

the syllabus and the application form shall be valid for the said year only.

4. The candidates should send their Application for Registration by Registered

Post with Acknowledge Due/Speed Post. (Please do not fold the ApplicationForm).

5. Electronic Fee Transfer :

The University has introduced the Electronic Transfer of Fees tofacilitate the smooth functioning and maintaining of records of feepaid by the student. The student is advised to utilise the two sets ofchallans in quadruplet (perforated) enclosed with the prospectus forthe purpose. If the student is paying the entire fee in a singleinstallment, he/she may utilise only one challan form. If thestudent is paying in two installments, he/ she may use one challanfor the first installment of fees and the second challan should beretained to be utilised for the payment of the second installment offees.

Procedure: The procedure for payment is totally simplified. The candidate isadvised to fill in the details of the subject beside the list of courses printed in

the challan with details of fee paid, installment if any, and submitted to anyState Bank of Mysore or State Bank of India or any Nationalised Bank branches anywhere in the country. The challan in quadruplet will have to besubmitted to any of the above banks with the fees. One counterfoil shouldbe retained by the candidate, one should be attached to the application to

be retained by the candidate, one should be attached to the application tobe submitted to KUDDE. Candidates should note that they NEED NOT fill ineither the account number or bank code which is already printed in thechallan.

For those candidates who are unable to pay the fees in a single installmentthe facilities for two installments is also provided. if the second installment isnot paid in time, such students shall not be permitted to take the exam andthe first installment will be forfeited.

The Directorate of Distance Education reserves the right to cancel oneor any number of courses if an adequate number of students are notavailable for any course. If students have paid admission fees, suchfees will be refunded to the students.

SPECIAL NOTE

Candidates applying through the Student Counseling Centres should read thefollowing instructions carefully regarding the duties and functions of theKuvempu University Directorate of Distance Education and StudentCounseling Centres.

Candidates can submit their filled in applications at the Student CounselingCentres with original certificates and Challan/ DD. They should take anacknowledgement from the Student Counseling Centres for the same.

They should collect their originals from the Student Counseling Centreimmediately after the Admission is approved by the Directorate of DistanceEducation.

Education.

The Student Counseling Centre shall be totally responsible for collection andreturn of the original certificates of students who have submitted theirapplications through them. The Directorate of Distance Education will not beresponsible for the above transaction and the Student Counseling Centres willbe solely responsible for the above.

The Student Counseling Centres shall arrange for conductingOrientation/Counselling and Practicals for prescribed number of days withprior approval of Kuvempu University Directorate of Distance Education.

The Student Counseling Centre shall arrange for sending the PracticalRecords for Science students duly signed by the Competent person/StudentCounseling Centre Co-ordinator/ Examiners.

The Student Counseling Centre shall provide all necessary informationregarding Admission, Course details and such other information provided bythe University to the students.

The Student Counseling Centre shall not misguide the students with regard toAdmissions, Course details, Examination, Term of the courses concerned andsuch other aspects.

The University does not offer any course on one sitting basis. The StudentCounseling Centre shall not announce/advertise or provide mis-information tothe students on this matter and shall not give any false assurance to thestudents such as for example, "Pass guarantee," etc.

If any Student Counseling Centre indulges in such practices, the studentsmay immediately contact the Directorate of Distance Education forclarification.

The University shall not be responsible for any involvement by the students inthe above said matters with the Student Counseling Centres.

The students shall procure a single Challan/ DD for the total amount shown inthe Fee structure for the respective course and enclose the same along withthe filledin Application and submit it to the Student Counseling Centre. (ForFee and Challan/ DD details see 'Fee Structure' and 'Instructions to theCandidates' in the prospectus. Also see - procedure for Admission throughStudent Counseling Centres).

However provision for payments of fees in two installments is also made forthose students who are not able to pay the full fees at one time.

After the approval of Admissions, the Directorate of Distance Education shallsend Admission Registration Card directly to the students.

The Directorate of Distance Education shall directly / or through the StudentCounseling Centre send the Syllabus, Study Material. Internal Assessment

Topics with further instructions to the students.

The Directorate of Distance Education shall send the Annual ExaminationTime table, Admission Ticket and allotment of Examination Centres directly. Ifstudents do not receive it, they should immediately contact the DDE office ortheir Student Counseling Centres.

Results and Marks card will be sent directly to the students / or through theStudent Counseling Centre. The copy of results will also be available from theStudent Counseling Centres.

Student Counseling Centres.

The Kuvempu University Directorate of Distance Education can authorize theStudent Counseling Centre to conduct the Practical Courses or makealternative arrangements. The Kuvempu University Directorate of DistanceEducation may merge more than one Student Counseling Centre to adesignated Examination Centre. Hence, the candidates should note that allStudent Counseling Centres may not be Theory Examination Centres.However, the University will make efforts to designate examinationcentres within reasonable distance from the place of residence. TheUniversity may also consider conducting exams continuously without a breakor gap between exams.
