KURNOOL MUNICIPAL CORPOARTION

Greetings to All,

The state government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a call to form four new urban

development authorities. The major aim of forming urban development authorities is to

enhance economic growth and fast development in tier II cities. Kurnool is among the four

proposed development authorities. Being a gateway in Rayalseema region it is expected

that Kurnool will have higher growth by 2029.

To curb future problems it is planned to have development authority and it is prioritized to

provide inter connection of major roads, drinking water to households, storm water

drainage system, and solid waste management and to develop non motorized and modern

urban transport and create green spaces which is recommended as per Schedule XII of the

constitution.

The aim is to provide planned urban development. If not it would be difficult to provide

basic needs to the people who migrate to the cities.

Hope the best will emerge to serve the people to their expectation

Honorable Chief Minister’s Visit to Kurnool

The Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday had a Padayatra in old city of

Kurnool town. along with Deputy Chief Minister K.E Krishna Murthy, M.P, T.G. Venkatesh, and other

leaders, from Kids world to Coles College via Osmania College for over 3 miles.

And also laid foundation stone for

Vijayavanam Park which is upcoming

amusement park located along National

Highway -44 (old NH-7)

Honourable chief minister inaugurated

prestigious AMRUT 2015-16 Water Supply

Project’’ that is going to enhance water

service by filling up the gaps of pipe line

network - 403 Km and also providing 15000

household water tap connections to the

households who doesn’t have.

MEPMA Section: Skill Development Training Programmes

I. The project director, MEPMA, Kurnool had signed MOU with District Manager,

APITCO, Kurnool on 23.10.2016 for skill development activity. 1000 self help group

members are being participating in the skill training development centers.

Ten 10 CRC (Community resource centre) buildings are being utilized for imparting

training for the people who are divided in two batches (40 members per batch one in the

morning and in the evening.

II. SIRD (Syndicate Institute of Rural Development), Kurnool District has imparted training

under entrepreneur development in different trades in up gradation of skill trainings like

Agarbathi making phenyl surf making and advanced tailoring and fashion designing for

184 SHG members of urban poor.

Raj Expedith Associates team visit to Kurnool city

Raj Expedith an Architecture firm

visited Kurnool city to develop streets as

per international standards of

streetscaping.

The Team had already worked for

Telangana (Yadagirigutta master plan),

lumbini park in Hyderabad and also have

good experience in working with

international architects (Singapore and

England)

Team had discussed with the corporation

officials, local public representatives and

visited major roads in the City where

there is scope for development.
