• Beginning Semester 2, 2018/19, registration for engineering courses for new students are arranged by the office of DDAIL

• Web-based registration is COMPULSORY for all returning students

A penalty of RM100 for those who fail do this exercise.Begins after mid-semester (around week 11)Advisable to do as soon as possible to avoid unavailable section.Make use of the petition feature.Consult respective academic advisor for any issues related to study plan and registration.

MECH 3310 HEAT TRANSFER (3)This module deals with the different modes of heat transfer. Conduction: Steady-state one- dimensional heat transfer. Steady state conduction with and without energy generation within the system; effect of variable thermal conductivity. Heat transfer from fins. Transient conduction heat transfer – lumped type analyses. Convection: Heat transfer analyses / correlations for forced convections for laminar and turbulent flow. Heat transfer analyses /correlations for natural convections. Condensation and boiling heat transfer. Heat Exchangers: Types of heat exchangers, log-mean temperature difference, effectiveness-NTU method. Radiation: Physical mechanism, radiation properties, view factor, radiation exchange, radiation shields. Pre-requisites: MECH 2310; MECH 2340Co-requisites: None

1. Passing of FE PolicyIt was endorsed in KBM 08/2019 that for all Kulliyyah of Engineering courses

The students are required to obtain at least 50% of the final examination in order to pass the course. Student who obtain marks lower than 50% of the final examination, will obtain grade no better than D, and will be required to repeat the course.

This is to comply with the Engineering Accreditation Council policy.Effective Semester 1, 2019/2020, applicable to all cohort

2. Student Termination PolicyThe Senate in its meeting No. 455 held on 26th April 2019 endorsed a proposal to standardize the policies of non-registration for undergraduate and postgraduate as follows:− A student is required to register for courses in every regular semester

throughout the period of his studies.− A student who fails to register for any course by the fourth (4th) week of the

semester with no valid reason as approved by the dean centre of studies shall receive a status of “NR” (not registered).

− By the twelfth (12th) week of the semester, a student who retain an NR status shall be terminated (TD) from his studies.
