Project Overview
• 3 Projects
• Project #1
• Part 1: Motor Circuit
• Part 2: Pulse Box
• Project #2- Synthesis of Trochrocene
• Project #3 Scientific Glassblowing
Microwave Spectroscopy
• Microwave Spectroscopy studies the structure of organic and inorganic compounds.
• Why is this important?• Determines bond
lengths and angles and model interactions.

Project #1: Part 1: Motor Control Circuit
• Objective– To control a DC motor at
12V/1Amp that will run at variable speeds, manually, or by computer.
– Control of mirror movement
– Using the NAND,555, One Shot, and Inverter
Final Design of Control Circuit
When manual is in use computer is locked out and vice versa
Project #1: Part 1: Success!Project #1 Part 1 was a success and currently moves mirrors within the new spectrometer
Project #1: Part 2: Pulse Box construction for Spectrometer #3
• Objective– To build a pulse box that could generate a sequences of pulses.
