giving to designderiving design from l ife
When creative license begets great design… When great
design lends itself to elegant form… When elegance in form
leads up to a better life… That’s when the Art of
Architecture heeds its true calling. The irrevocable connect
between lands and landmarks, moments and monuments
has been emphatically established through the annals of
history. And that connect continues… even today.
architecture - a statement through structure
Poppy’s Hotel at Kumblangi (Kerala) - India's first floating resort.
Inspired from a photographer's view that married the silhouettes above
and below water in the same perspective. An ambitious project
and a proud feather in the KTA hat.
the
collective
More than a mere group of people assembled under a single roof for
professional reasons, the team at KTA is a pool of resources that seek to
enhance each other’s skills and add up to a collective. Every project
therefore becomes the cumulative brain child of many. From Data
Collection, to Research and Analysis that eventually leads to design and
then culminates in construction - a true testament to a cohesive design
taskforce.
At KTA, teamwork is taken to yet another level. Professionals and experts
from all walks of life are engaged and interacted with to facilitate a healthy
and vibrant exchange of knowledge and skills. By creating constraints, KTA
creates a working style that seeks solutions from both within the
organisation and externally. So be it photographers, Naval Architects,
fishermen, farmers or artisans - inputs from professionals from all walks of
life are woven into the tapestry of the KTA design fabric, making
masterpieces that are universal in form and futuristic in function.
At KTA, we pride ourselves on the painstaking
time and effort we invest in understanding
your requirements, assessing the terrain and
evaluating the environment. And that’s just
scratching the surface. The more we learn,
the deeper is the level of detail to
which we are able to delve.
Because, we don’t believe in
settling for mere design. We are
committed to creating spaces
that reflect your personality and
reveal your style. While our
designs cover the essentials of
requirement and aesthetics, we go one
step further to also ensure their longevity. Our
insights probe the circumstantial and factor in
the intangible elements of time and change.
The final outcome? A space that meets your
requirements, not just for the moment but for
the foreseeable future.

We take apart every project and strip it to its shell.
We leave everything we have learned outside the
door and then we begin to learn some more. So,
our work space is also our classroom. And our
qualifications are our instruments of tutelage that
help us to re-qualify ourselves.
An almost painful process, we know, but in the
end? We re-invent ourselves and re-define our
designs – every time. And that’s why, every KTA
design is a unique masterpiece with no precedent.
Singular and focused in its statement about you.
From pre-design to design to
construction supervision to
post completion support, the KTA
Experience is a complete journey. It is our utmost
conviction that there can be no design without
discipline and that’s why we spare no effort in a detailed
documentation of all our drawings . Just like we build a house atop its foundation, so
too, we embark on the task of design only after we complete our detailed and precise
pre-design. And then we build…
Pre-design is the very first phase of design during which we acquaint ourselves with
you, assimilate your requirements and then create a concept. It is during this stage
that we visit the site, understand the environmental factors, disseminate the
surroundings and then put pen to paper. The direction of the wind could influence
the placement of windows. The quality of soil could influence the material we use
for construction. The variables are worked out here. And a definitive road map is
planned for the task ahead.
A time consuming process, for sure. But the time, effort and expense we take to
pre-design, is our way of ensuring that you will save all three during the crucial stage
of construction. Its how we add a little bit of ‘extra’ to the ordinary.
design - a creative journey

and th

e b e g i n a l l over again Once our designs are complete
and the project is all set for construction, we
pause for a while. We turn around and re-trace our
steps. Using the concept of Reverse Engineering, we work
our arduous way backwards. And at every step, we analyse
and evaluate our work. This objective re-look at the various
elements that have been incorporated into the design helps
us to trim the excesses, optimize utility and lend finesse
and finish wherever required. Only then, do we believe
the design to be complete and ready for
execution.
Our idea of change is not the whimsical change that bounces off a floating
thought or fleeting fancy, but the change that is inspired by the desire to
innovate. At KTA, we are constantly striving to break free from the
constraints of existing form and obvious design. To look at the mundane
and see marvels instead. That’s why, we have a dedicated department for
Research and Development. Here’s where we experiment with materials
and explore new methods of design. So be it a particular type of sand or
clay in the area, a unique landscape, an interesting shape or just a fancy,
we will make it work for you. Innovation inspired by research, design
derived through nature and more often than not, that extra mile that we
go – for you. We take our research seriously and we apply it every which
way we can.
the only constant is change
Parish hall at Ranni (Kerala) - Creating new trends in design
A project undertaken at Ranni. Creating a traditional yet modern, welcoming yet
unique design that will be a trendsetting landmark and appeal to a large number of
parish members with diverse requirements and preferences.
green architecture
Friendship with the environment is today a
mandatory element that needs to be factored into
all design. The use of eco-friendly material and
practices have become par for the course. At KTA,
we take the concept of ‘Green’ to yet another
level. We augment the sustainability of every
project by focusing our attention on arranging all
elements in a manner that will reduce the carbon
footprint and optimize the utilization of natural
and renewable resources. The entire KTA
workforce is trained and educated on the modern
principles and practices that support
sustainability. And we leave no stone unturned in
sharing our insights and educating our customers
and vendors alike.
Trine Green Lagoon at Arookutty (Kerala) – In friendship with nature.
A 30-unit project located on the serene backwaters at Arookutty, Kerala.
Designed to retain the integrity of the original landscape, the entire project was
designed to preclude the cutting of trees.
it all adds up Our task is to assemble several elements so that
they look good, become a functionally expressive
ensemble and sums up to a visual masterpiece.
After all, bad design shouts at you, but a good
design is a silent seller. And when a good design
extends beyond its utility to meet unspoken
requirements and creates a level of satisfaction
that transcends to an emotional connection, then,
we know we have successfully accomplished
what we started out to achieve. The satisfaction is
indescribable and the effort and expense become
well worth it.
When you said you wanted the comforts of a
house within the confines of a flat, we unraveled
the elements of an apartment and created a
house, complete with split levels, garden and
even a barbeque. A veritable villa in the sky.
When we conceived a floating resort to re-create a
photographer’s image, we actually re-wrote the
textbook on floating fundamentals. And the resort
floated…
Need we say more?
Pushpamangalam Apartments at Thrikkakara (Kerala).
Designed to give the feel of a house within an apartment and
sensitised to the 'wish-list' of prospective residents, each
apartment offers the living experience of an independent home
including a personal garden!

A dream is immeasurable, not a circumstantial act, but the work of a free mind. The
measurable make this dream a reality. But that extra mile you travel will make the
measurable reality an immeasurable, like the dream you saw. Architecture is an
assembly of measurable to create the immeasurable.
