vacant for the last year.

OUR MISSION
Krugersdorp club is a family club with a running problem.
Club runs:
On Tuesdays at 18h00 there will be 8 km runs from Nando’s,
Keywest – organized by Chris Smit.
On Mondays and Thursdays at 5h00 there are runs from the park
opposite Bethany house- organized by Jan
Alan Coulter organizes trial runs from Hobby Park, Robert Broom
on Saturdays and Sundays. Please contact him if
you want to join him.
Estienne organizes weekend club runs from Nandos at 5h30 when
there are no races around. Please contact him for
further information and to put you on his cell phone group.
MATRIC EXAMS:
We are thinking of all our grade 12 learners who are now faced
with the final matric exams. We hope and pray that you will do
well and will get the necessary strength and stamina to get
through this difficult time.

Club fees (before June 2017): Married/living together join as
family - R600 Not married/Single - R400 If you have a child that is
still studying they will form part of the family. Child older than
18year and not studying joins as a single member. Club fees can be

Please book the ouma and oupa evening in advance and inform the
grandparents in time so that they can try to fit this evening into
their social calendar. Remember that club members are requested to
bring a plate of either sweet or savoury food to share with fellow
club members when we return from our relaxing walk to the dam. At
the last time trial on 14 December the club will provide side
dishes at the bring-and-braai. Prepare to spend a last run and
social afterwards with your club members who you will only see in
January again.

THE BITTER AND SWEET COLUMN:
Our thoughts are still with Wim Vergeer and his family after the
death of his mother Our condolences go to Chris Smit, Helga and the
family after the death of Chris’s sister

GENERAL
Club gear: At the AGM it was raised that a running vest with a
new design and/or colours should be considered. It was decided that
we need inputs on possible designs which will include the colours
green, white, black and purple. The idea is that
there should be less white as this fades during the washing
process and later become beige on the running vests. Please
contact Sonja (083 949 0120) if you have any design in mind. We
need your help and initiative!
Donations required: Josephine is our cleaner and the committee
wants to give her something at the end of the year to thank her for
her loyalty and hard work during the year. There will be a box at
the club in which club members are requested to
put in non-perishables so that a hamper can later be made up. We
also request club members to donate old running gear (not
necessary club gear) and old running shoes to give to less
fortunate runners. This can also be left at the club on
Thursday
evenings.
NNB: There are still prize winners who did not attend the end
year function and who must collect their prizes. Please collect
your prizes at the club on a Thursday night before the end of
November, otherwise it will be forfeited.
All Comrades finishers got vouchers for a meal at The Diner.
These are actually valid until the end of December (although it
is
indicated for a shorter period on the voucher). Please ensure
that you collect your voucher in time as The Diner gets booked
for
year-end functions and you may have difficulty in getting a
reservation if you leave it too late

THE YEAR-END FUNCTION:
In typical Krugersdorp running club style, this function was a
major success. Presented in the beautiful surroundings of a
majestic mountain, green lawns and the old trees at Achterbergh
and with a delicious three course meal, the recipe for success
was guaranteed. The décor was astounding and then the function
was also attended by celebrities and movie stars whom we
had the privilege to meet.

Some of the celebrities who attended were as follows: The Adams
family, The Flintstone family, Zorro and his lovely wife,
Micky mouse, Tinkerbell, Al Capone and his wife, The Karate kid
and Cleopatra
The best dressed females were Cleopatra and Zorro’s wife:
Cleopatra (Anna-Retha) also won the award for the best female
veteran runner of the club.
The best dressed males were Al Capone and the karate kid:

Louw the best senior female runner of the club:
Ryan Coulter is the best senior male and his dad (Alan) the best
master male:

RENTING OF CLUB HOUSE
The club house can be rented by club members and private
parties. Non club members – R950 and a deposit of R250 is required
