Spend one unfortunate day in the hospital and you will leave behind about 14.5 pounds of linens to be washed, including gowns, blankets, towels and surgical materials. That is a hefty load of laundry. If Superior Health Linens is working behind the scenes, however, that number drops to 11 or 12. Think about it: just 100 patients would create 300 pounds less of the dirty stuff every day. “It’s our goal to provide the most cost-effective linen programs to meet each of our customer’s individual needs, whether it’s a nursing home, hospital or clinic,” says Superior Health Linen’s Chief Operating Officer Greg Schermerhorn. “We do this by following a unique customer-focused process that includes personal training and constant communication.” Apparently, this approach has paid off as the business tripled its size in just the last four years. Now, with two locations in Wisconsin and two in Illinois, the company’s fleet of 30 vehicles picks up dirty and drops off clean linens six-to-seven days a week to every customer within a 250-mile radius. And there’s no signs of slowing down. “We’re a very capital-intensive business,” Schermerhorn says. “We need every penny to invest in our growth, which requires purchasing more textiles. It also means establishing a budget and sticking to it.” Working with Milwaukee Mack Leasing, LLC, dba Maximum Truck Leasing, Schermerhorn discovered a solution: a full-service lease creates more working capital and ensures predictable transportation costs.

“A lot of customers are finding a lease is an attractive option right now, especially with the unpredictability of the economy,” says Otto Mattke, lease account manager for Maximum Leasing. “Not only does a lease take the guesswork out of the budget, it also allows you to be more cautious in taking risks on a new venture for instance. Additionally, unlike some of the larger leasing companies, we spec’ each truck for its intended application – we’re not just picking something out of a mass purchase for our customers and putting it on the road.” Because a full-service lease provides the customer with everything but the fuel, insurance and drivers, it makes even more sense. Consider this: the time and energy you would have spent maintaining your own trucks could be spent growing and improving your business. And when the lease is over, simply return the equipment and don’t worry about the uncertainty of the used truck market. That’s our job. For more information, contact Maximum Truck Leasing at any of the five Kriete Group locations.

A full-service operating lease provides: • comprehensive maintenance program • 24/7 emergency road service • tire replacement and repairs • licensing and permitting • replacement vehicles • management reports • fuel tax reporting • rentals at reduced rates

You’ve got a couple good years experience under your belt. But is it enough to completely take over the daily operations of a business? It was for 30-yearold Roger Kriete. Thrown into this position with little warning when his father passed away in 1971, Roger took the reins of the family business without hesitation. As challenging as

it was, he surrounded himself with good people, asked for lots of help, and delegated where he saw fit. As a result, the company grew from one location and one truck brand (Mack) to five locations and five truck brands. And 40 employees quickly became 225. Fast forward 41 years and watch history repeat itself. Roger’s son, David Kriete, who

is now 30, recently took over as the new CEO in March. “I wasn’t exactly thrown into the position with little experience as my father was,” says David. “In fact, the opposite is true. I’ve been working at the dealership in some capacity or another since I was 13.” It was at that young age that David took on his first

daunting task of painting the entire Milwaukee building. From that point, each summer was spent in a different department from service, to parts, to leasing and sales. He also spent several years working in commercial lending, while earning his MBA, before rejoining The Kriete Group in 2006. Although well rounded and ready to take the lead, David says he plans to follow

in his father’s footsteps when it comes to trusting the experience and strengths of his team.“The situation is very similar to that of 1971 in that, just as my father did, I have an incredible surrounding cast to ensure things go smoothly,” he says. “Although he’s retired, my father still comes in every morning to mentor me and the other members of the executive team. Having that passion truly

makes a difference in what can be accomplished and I’m happy to say that’s something we both share.” In January 2013, The Kriete Group will hold its first company-wide party in honor of Roger Kriete and to cheer on David Kriete in the next chapter – what promises to be another great 40-plus years of business.

equipment available,” says Mark Hanson, director of logistics and inventory control for U.S. Auto-force. “So, we spent a lot of time researching the best vehicles to update our fleet and we worked very closely with The Kriete Group, our dealer for more than ten years. Specifically, Kevin Lawniczak, our sales rep in Green Bay, helped us spec the trucks to fit our specific needs and eliminated unnecessary costs in the process.”

Over the past seven years, U.S. Autoforce has added four Volvo tractors and 18 UD straight trucks to its fleet. In addition to a reduced carbon footprint, the new additions have delivered dependability across the board. And the dealer has delivered the same. “The Kriete Group has always provided timely feedback to questions or issues as they arise,” says Hanson. “But it’s more than that. Keeping our deliveries to schedule is extremely important and minimizing downtime through effective fleet PM service schedules and timely repair is imperative in making this happen. The Kriete Group goes the extra mile to turn our vehicles around quickly and at a fair price. You just can’t ask for much more than that.”
