SEPTEMBER 2016 – JUNE 2017 The KRI Level One Aquarian Teacher Training Program is a 180-‐hour classroom professional certification program in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.® This program is the international standard KRI Aquarian Teacher Training Program Level One. http://www.kundaliniresearchinstitute.org/teachertraining.htm This one session per month training is a personal journey, which is fun, challenging and life changing. The well-‐defined curriculum weaves interactive theory, with practical yogic knowledge for life. You will develop skills to instruct students in Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations, by teaching yoga-‐class and lecture practicums in small groups. During this training you will also experience Sadhana (early morning yoga and meditation practice). Besides the classroom hours, you will receive independent study assignments: reading, 40-‐day yoga and meditation assignments, Kundalini Yoga class participation, and service projects. You are also required to attend a full day of White Tantric Yoga. http://www.whitetantricyoga.com/ White Tantric Yoga courses are held in various locations around the globe. Upon completing all requirements of the KRI Level One program, you earn the title of KRI Certified Instructor of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan,® and fulfill the Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) 200-‐hour requirement.

WHO ARE THE KRI TRAINERS FOR THIS LEVEL ONE?
Each trainer brings experience and wisdom from their own life, learning from the Master Yogi Bhajan and from teaching Kundalini Yoga for decades.
Tarn Taran Kaur Khalsa, Training Lead Trainer
Tarn Taran Kaur Khalsa has been teaching Kundalini Yoga internationally since 1972. Her wit and wisdom touch the hearts of all. She has the sensitive art of guiding an individual through the process of awakening one’s inner grace, strength and potential; the subtle skill, which she learned under the direct guidance of Yogi Bhajan for over 30 years.
In 1975 together with her husband, Tarn Taran Singh, they opened the first Kundalini Yoga School in Germany, and in 1976 they established a Kundalini Yoga Teachers Training program there. Tarn Taran Kaur has dedicated her life to training Kundalini Yoga teachers, using Yogi Bhajan’s motto: “A teacher needs to train the student to be TEN times greater than his/her self!”
During the last decade, she has focused her teaching in Mexico and China. Tarn Taran Singh Khalsa Tarn Taran Singh Khalsa became student of Yogi Bhajan 1972. Teaching, training teachers and practicing Kundalini Yoga over 30 years in USA, Europe and Latin America. Founded 3HO Germany, European Yogi Tea Company and first
European Teacher Training program. Currently living in New Mexico working for KRI as International Coordinator of Trainers and Aquarian Teacher Program Director. Authored a series of Mantra CD’s which include Mantras of Prayer, and Ik Ardas

Nirvair Singh Khalsa
Nirvair Singh Khalsa began studying with Yogi Bhajan in 1971. He is a retired University Instructor at the University of Alaska Anchorage where he taught classes in Kundalini Yoga for 31 years. He has authored nineteen best selling DVD's/Videos and four books on Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.

He has also taught classes, workshops and trainings throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. Currently he is the CEO and President of The Kundalini Research Institute. He is a Yoga Alliance E-‐RYT 500 certified teacher trainer. He lives with his wife of 43 years, Nirvair Kaur, in Tesuque New Mexico.

An accomplished musician, recording artist, and Lead Trainer in the KRI Aquarian Trainer Academy. Dev Suroop Kaur strives to break it down, keep it real, and guide students to their own empowered authenticity.

Madhur Nain Webster
Madhur-‐Nain Webster is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. Her upbringing was centered on the spiritual traditions and practices of Kundalini Yoga. Born in Amsterdam to accomplished yoga teachers, Tarn Taran Kaur and Tarn Taran Singh Khalsa, who still travel and teach all

over the world. Madhur-‐Nain’s name, meaning “lotus eyes” in Punjabi, was given to her by famed Kundalini Yoga Master and close personal family friend, Yogi Bhajan. She is married and has two boys.
Madhur-‐Nain is a Professional Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainer with KRI. She also teaches
Kundalini Yoga and Meditation courses internationally. Madhur Nain’s genuine love of
humanity and fascination with the human mind and behavior inspired her to pursue a
career where she could influence people and enrich their lives. Her conviction of the
positive influence that meditation has on the psychology and well-‐being of a person

SIX PRINCIPLE COMPONENTS IN A KRI LEVEL ONE AQUARIAN TEACHER PROGRAM 1. Kriya & Meditation: The foundation of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan
The theory and practice of Kundalini Yoga kriyas (yoga sets), asanas, and mudras. Explore the nature of the mind and it’s training through Kundalini Yoga meditations, mantras, and pranayama (breathing techniques).
2. Humanology and Philosophy: The Lifestyle of a Kundalini Yoga Teacher The history and tradition of Kundalini Yoga, as well as the underlying philosophy behind all yogic practices. The technologies of Kundalini Yoga as they apply to healing and humanology (the science of living a human life), including diet, nutrition, and relationships.
3. Anatomy & Physiology: Essentials of Yogic and Functional Anatomy Traditional Western anatomy, its purpose and function, including the respiratory, nervous, immune, musculoskeletal, circulatory, endocrine, and digestive systems and their relation to the practice and teaching of yoga. Also Yogic anatomy and

the energy systems of the body including the chakras, nadis, pranas and vayus, and the ten yogic bodies.
4. Consciousness of a Teacher: Virtues and Values of Living in the Golden Chain The skills and techniques to become an effective Kundalini Yoga Instructor, including practical strategies for teaching beginners, ethical guidelines, curriculum development, and the transformational role of the teacher in developing a successful yoga practice.
5. The Master’s Touch: Cultivating a Connection to the Master Connect with Yogi Bhajan through DVD classes, Library of Teaching lectures, and study.
6. The Practicum: Teaching from Day One Practical experience instructing a yoga class under the supervision of a KRI Yoga Teacher Trainer, receiving written evaluation and student feedback.

THE KRI AQUARIAN TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM
The KRI Aquarian Teacher Training Program is based on the comprehensive science of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. (For more information about the entire training program: www.kriteachings.org)
This training in Sonoma is only the first level of the KRI Aquarian Teacher Training Program. There are three levels of certification in this program:
• KRI Level One: Foundations and Awakening – Instructor • KRI Level Two: Transformation – Practitioner • KRI Level Three: Realization – Teacher
LEVEL ONE TEXT BOOKS Participants will receive three books for the training required reading. These books are included in the training fee.
1. The Aquarian Teacher Textbook, an invaluable tool for learning and teaching Kundalini Yoga.
2. The Aquarian Teacher Yoga Manual, a collection of yoga sets, pranayama (breathing techniques), and various types of meditations.
3. The Master’s Touch, a volume of 22 lectures, given by Yogi Bhajan, from the 1996 Teachers Training Course in New Mexico including the meditations he gave at that course.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Please note that KRI does not issue certificates for Level One Trainings until 6 months after the completion of a training. The KRI Aquarian Teacher Training team reserves the right to grant KRI Certification solely at their discretion and the evaluation of each participant's readiness to be a Kundalini Yoga teacher. Evaluation is based on successfully meeting the KRI Aquarian Teacher Training course requirements including, but not limited to completion of the following: Pre-‐Course Requirements If a participant has NOT experienced Kundalini Yoga classes or workshop, we recommend that they prepare themselves with the following:
• Attend 20 or more Kundalini Yoga classes taught by a KRI certified instructor in your area.
• Or complete the 20 classes by participating in KRI certified videos and read and write a 300 word essay on the book Sadhana Guidelines by Gurucharan Singh Khalsa available at KRI's online store, The Source, at http://thesource.kriteachings.org.
• Mastery of the English Language is highly recommended
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: • Classroom: Attend ALL 180 hours of classroom instruction. • Reading: Complete all reading assignments from the three training books. • Home practice: There will be 5-‐6 practice assignments of meditations, yoga and
journaling of 40 days each. • Social service: Teach 40 hours of Kundalini Yoga to people who would normally
not participate in a yoga class. These classes are taught without payment. • Projects: Research and present a topic to the class, such as “How stress impacts
our health”, or “Prayer and meditation.” The Lead Trainer will assign this topic. • Yogi Bhajan videos: Watch four (4) Yogi Bhajan lectures on Library of Teachings
and present the highlights to the class. (http://www.libraryofteachings.com/ ) • Kundalini Yoga classes: Take minimally 20 Kundalini Yoga classes with different
Kundalini Yoga Instructors. The costs of these classes are NOT included in the training fee.
• Full payment: Complete payment of all training fees.

• Sadhana: Attend minimally 10 group Aquarian Sadhana sessions. Sadhana will be held at the training location from 5:00am to 7:30am. There will be a total of 15 group Sadhana sessions.
• Yoga-‐teaching practicum’s: Receive satisfactory assessments for 2 yoga-‐teaching practicums during the training.
• Oral and written exams: Pass all written and/or oral exams on material covered in the classroom and assigned reading. The written exam is graded only pass/fail. Included in the exam is the preparation of two sample yoga class curricula.
• White Tantric Yoga: Attend a full day of White Tantric Yoga on March 5, 2017 in Oakland. Price is NOT included in the Level One fees of this training.
• Professional Standards: Properly represent and sign the Code of Ethics and Professional Standards for Kundalini Yoga Teachers.

To withdraw from the course before it begins we must receive your request in writing before September 1, 2016. You will be eligible a refund minus your $600 deposit. To withdraw from the course after it begins we must receive your request in writing before October 31, 2016. Once the course begins you will be eligible for a refund minus the non-‐refundable deposit of $600 and a pro-‐rated amount of the course. No refunds will be granted after October 31, 2016. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION Who is Yogi Bhajan? Kundalini Yoga is an ancient form of yoga however it was kept secret for thousands of years. In 1969 Yogi Bhajan, who became a Master of Kundalini Yoga when he was only 16 years old, came to the United States. He saw the need to share the teachings of Kundalini Yoga and train teachers to share this technology around the globe. http://www.yogibhajan.org/main/ Do I need to send Proof that I have completed my Prerequisites? We want applicants to have experienced a minimum of 20 Kundalini Yoga classes prior to attending the Level 1 so that you are familiar with some of the basics of Kundalini Yoga before starting the Level One Teacher Training. We do not need proof that you have attended these classes. If you are unable to attend the 20 classes, you are required to send in a written essay before the course. (See the packet of pre-‐course form under the Certification Section) What if I need to miss class? The training presents very essential information and experience, therefore we do NOT recommend that any hours be missed. Kindly communicate directly with the Administrator or Lead Trainer if you cannot attend class. You will be responsible to request notes from other students and also meet with one of the assistants. Can I participate in the training if I have no experience with Kundalini Yoga? If you have no experience with Kundalini Yoga, we request that you

Can I take only a portion of the training? No, this is an international standardized KRI Aquarian Teacher Training Level One. If someone has previously attended a KRI Aquarian Teacher Training, Level 1 and wishes to refresh their experience and knowledge, it is possible to attend.
