other KORDES varieties:
Kreative Roses located in the Flower Business Park
in Naivasha is now in its sixth year since inception.
As a completed 20 Ha project it has helped to
successfully release a number of new introductions
from the famous Rose Breeder W. Kordes’ Söhne.
Some of these varieties are:
Athena® Red Ribbon® Good Times®
Vanilla Sky® Dekora® Burgundy®
Other novelties released in the past 12 months are:
Sunny Sky® Sunshine® Maracuja®
La Bamba®,
and, most recently last month, our Meteor® .
A further six varieties are expected to be released in the next

The company’s profile:
Kreative Roses has standard green-
houses with single open vents and
normal polythene.
Kreative Roses implemented some
innovative ideas like a monorail
system for the internal transport on
water as well as a hydroponic sys-
tem.
Better packing and post–
harvest techniques are being
implemented together with third par-
ties in order to have a better product for
the market.
Improvements over the past year
have been to implement a market
information system through the
internet, which hopefully will help
growers with more information
about the new releases of the Kor-
des varieties.
