I am pleased to congratulate you all on the advent of the new (calendar) year 2016, wishing the Almighty Allah to help us succeed so that KOTC pursues making more achievements and so that stability and peace prevail in Kuwait and all over the world. On this occasion, I'd like to review together with you some events and achievements by KOTC in the previous year. The company fleet made up of 30 tankers transported 29.9 million metric tons of crude oil, petroleum products and liquefied gas, at a rise by rate of 60% over that of the previous year. Loads transported from Kuwait were 22.5 million metric tons, at a rise by rate of 109%. Tanker share was 17% 0f the total Kuwaiti exports of crude oil, petroleum products and liquefied gas, i.e. equivalent to 60% of KPC exports. As for the fleet, KOTC signed at the beginning of the previous year a comprehensive ship repair with the Bahrain-

headquartered Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard Company "ASRY", one of the largest and most important leading companies in ship repair and maintenance of ships and sea platforms worldwide. The agreement stipulates exclusive maintenance of 19 tankers for 3 years at around US$ 33 million. Thus, it is the largest ever pan-Gulf agreement signed with a ship dock, which allows KOTC to regularly get most of its fleet ships maintained. As for Shuaiba liquefied gas refilling branch, production in Fiscal Year (FY) 2014/15 reached 13,901 million cylinders of different sizes. Distribution of 12-kg size cylinders for house use recorded an increase by 0.30% over that of 2014. Total distribution amounted to 13,322 mln cylinders and, distribution centers authorized by KOTC were 75 with another 2 new gas branches yet to be added in Sabah Al-Salem and Jaber Al-Ahmad Areas in FY 2015/16.

Shuaiba liquefied gas plant kept its production capacity by the equivalent of 50,000 cylinders/day and refilling all requested numbers and sizes by rate of 13,000,000 cylinders all over the year along with regular check of 9 mobile emergency units for the refill of liquefied gas according to the annual plan. Total working hours at the plant last year amounted to around 21,600 hrs without injuries or incidents, thanks to observing safety measures in practice at the installation.During the previous year, Umm Al-Aish liquefied gas refilling branch was opened. It is a qualitative and strategic step taken by KOYC for raising the total production capacity of liquefied gas through the 2 plants of Shuaiba and Umm Al-Aish sufficient for meeting the local market demand till the year 2030 and doubling the strategic storage of liquefied gas of the country to more than 50 days.
