LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENTHello again, do you realize that one

quarter of 2013 has passed us up!! So far, I believe we have a good start in the right direction. We are having good meetings, good fellowship, good cooperation among the officers. I am very satisfied with everythings so far! Thank you one and all!! There are many gooD things coming in the future.

Our Executive Board meeting was just over and everything was set for for the annual dinner. Hope you all enjoyed it. Lots of things were discussed and everything went smoothly.

I would like to find out if there is any interest in a group visiting the Military Museum. Dave has inquired about a group rate. We need at least ten members to get the group rate. Think about it and I will bring it up at the next general meeting.

Joe Slatton, President

The Annual Dinner Dance was held on Saturday night (6 April) at the Wine Cellar. A total of fifty-two people signed up to come (and 3 called in sick).

As usual, the Wine Cellar setup was perfect and the meals and dessert were rated the 'best ever'. Everyone enjoyed the -monthly presentation [to Carol Rafferty] for dedication and devotion to the Chapter and its programs.

Dan Clark, CPL, USMC, Ret. was our guest speaker. He praised the Korean veterans for their positive thinking, perseverance, determination and heroic actions that changed the nature of battlefield operations today. The innovations of AID stations, M.A.S.H. Units and helicopter rescue and extraction saved lives and continues to be standard practice today. Mr. Clark spoke from practical experience inasmuch as he was awarded seven(7) purple heart medals before retiring from the Marine Corps.

John Miller's music was an added dimension to the dinner with “our kind” of music - soft and danceable

From the comments received, therewere plenty of kudos for Dave and Kathleen's behind the scenes work; the beautiful orchids;great comradeship; lots of chatter and another dinner dance well done.

Memorial Day- Our annual Memorial Day program will be held at the Korean War Memorial -Freedom Lake Park at 10:00 A.M.On May 27, 2013.
