Creating a Local Gift Economy Kaslo aces similar economic challenges that too many

rural BC communities do. Finding ways to surmountthese challenges together is important in helping ourcommunity to thrive in changing times.

One important way to do this is by developing the GifEconomy. All residents o Kaslo and surrounding areasare invited to come explore this together through a com-munity potluck (a time honoured way o sharing our gifso ood!), a short talk and gif circle, rom 4 – 7 pm onSaturday, February 13 at the United Church. Come or allor part o it. A gif circle is a real time, in person way orcommunity members to meet and share skills and goods.

    Monday afternoons, six weeks,March 7 – April 11

Working our way through grief is some

of the hardest and loneliest work wewill ever have to do. It can be difficultfor us to feel comfortable in our usualsocial settings. Other people often cannotunderstand our grief and, as much as theywould like to, don’t know how to supportus. A grief support group, with others whohave suffered a similar loss, can providethe help we need. Others listen willinglyand share their own stories of loss. It canbe reassuring to learn that what we arefeeling is normal. If this could be helpfulto you or someone you know, please feelwelcome to call for more information.
