DESCRIPTION
This is a communication machine in Zurich, where bankers - through corruption or other failings - are kept prisoner and as punishment, must service the building. However this is not a tool for humiliation, but a machine for interface between innovators and the public. The inmates are kept out of view, their tasks, meticulously planned in regimented spaces. The innovators however, are free to interact with the public in flexible spaces. The guest spaces are expressed as timber volumes floating. This is wrapped in a public route through 10 stories - which at ground level incorporates the existing frequent market on the site. The inmates are condensed to a concrete plateau and service tower which has access to all served spaces.

Main spaces of the program expressed as timber boxes, framing views.
Boxes are wrapped in a public route, snaking through the building sucking in the market
Inmates are housed in a tower that is connected to the service spaces.
The building is split and lifted to allow light into the exterior atrium and to make space for the farm where inmates grow herbs and care for bees and chickens to provide food for the restaurant
Guest rooms are protected from direct sunlight with shading.

VENTILATION
supply return
Due to the depth of the guest rooms, a HVAC system
is required for ventilation
Heating and cooling can be delivered to all spaces via
ducts from the plant room at 1st floor level.
As the inmate rooms are shallow, natural
ventilation is sufficient
