FERDINAND PORSCHE BIRTH HOUSE We invite you to Vratislavice nad Nisou, to visit the newly reconstructed house where Ferdinand Porsche, automobile designer and the Volkswagen vehicle creator, was born in 1875. In the authentic place, fundamental moments of engineer and design art development are presented, the part of which is also formed by the Ferdinand Porsche’s life work. Exposition may be visited individually using the on-site borrowed iPads. In case of group visit of more than 20 persons, we recommend to contact us well in advance. NICHOLAS AND GINGER BREAD DECORATING Accept our invitation to a magical journey through the Advent time to meet impersonations of St. Lucy, St. Barbora, black Ambrose, Percht, as well as devil, and St. Nicholas himself - beings well-known to our ancestors. The pre- Christmas atmosphere will help to unveil old folk customs even for the youngest visitors as it is associated with the traditional presents from St. Nicholas. Bring the gift packs you want St. Nicholas to give to your child (labeled) at the beginning of your group to the reception of the Birthplace. An unusual journey through traditional folk customs performed by the Divadýlko na Dlani theatre group will start at 5 pm and 6 pm. The introductory October lecture dedicated to the Czech technician and inventor Ludvík Očenášek will be followed on 10 December 2019 by Jiří Křížek, director of the North Bohemian Museum in Liberec. Within his lecture, he will describe the origin and development of petrol stations that were essential for motoring. The presentation starts at 17:30. Free admission. Before the presentation, you are invited to see the exposition of the Birth House which is newly enriched with the winning car of the 24 hour race Le Mans from 2016: Porsche 919 Hybrid. 21. 11. – JELEN: MIDNIGHT TRAIN OF MICHAL TUČNÝDuring the autumn tour with Míša Tučná, daughter of country music legend, the Jelen band will memorialise singer Michal Tučný. The concert will take place at the occasion of the Jelen’s special album release called: Stagecoach of Michal Tučný. Fans will have opportunity to enjoy the band’s legendary energy with even more intensity, supported by talented singer-songwriter Tereza Balonová. 26. 11. – ADVENT CONCERT OF NEREZ & LUCIA Final concert of the season cycle called “World Music”. Vít Sázavský and Zdeněk Vřešťál, founding members of the legendary Nerez band, joined forces with singer Lucie Šoralová in the project NEREZ & LUCIA. 26. 11. – GARAGES: ARCHITECTURAL TREASURES The final lecture of this year’s lecture cycle will be dedicated to garages. Unique architectural treasures representing an essential part of motoring history will be commented on by Jaroslav Zeman. Hieronimus II, from 17:30. Free admission.

30. 11. – DANCING THEATRE OF MLADÁ BOLESLAV YEAR IVSpectacular dance-entertaining show sets out to Mladá Boleslav for the fourth time. Actors and actresses from selected theatres will fight in an imaginary dance battle focused on Latin dances and standard dances. Author project of Martin Šimek and Tereza Řípová offers live music accompaniment; final gala evening will be hosted by Světlana Witowská and David Gránský. 5. 12. – ADVENT JOURNEY TO SEE ST. NICHOLASMagical museum journey where you meet Lucias, Barbaras, black Ambrož, Perchta, but also devils and St. Nicholas. Connected to the tradition of St. Nicholas’ presents performed by “Divadýlko na dlani”. Starting at 16:00, 17:00, 18:00 and 19:00. Please bring your gift parcels (clearly marked with a name tag) to be distributed by St. Nicholas to the museum reception desk at the beginning of the selected performance. Admission CZK 80. Ticket is to be purchased for the child and also their accompaniment.

11. 12. – NATIVITY DAGMAR PECKOVÁ & MUSICA BOHEMICA Christmas concert full of the most beautiful Czech and Moravian Christmas carols and Advent songs of the old Europe performed by an internationally well-known soloist Dagmar Pecková and the Musica Bohemica ensemble under the guidance of conductor Jaroslav Krček. The concert shall celebrate the Christmas in style arrangements of Christmas songs from their new joint album “Nativity”.

SHORT-TERM EXHIBITIONS

ŠKODA OCTAVIA & ŠKODA FELICIA “60”This year, ŠKODA OCTAVIA and ŠKODA FELICIA cars celebrate 60 years from start of production. First Octavia cars were released in Mladá Boleslav, already in January 1959. In the first half of the 20’s, the popular model was followed by the first new age generation which soon became a bestseller of the ŠKODA brand. One of the most popular Czech convertibles, ŠKODA FELICIA, was first presented on 1 March 1959 at motor show in Leipzig. The exhibition will make the ŠKODA Museum visitors familiar with these legendary ŠKODA brand models, pointing out the successes of ŠKODA OCTAVIA TOURING SPORT on racing tracks and reminding their successors, including the successes of ŠKODA OCTAVIA WRC. Exhibition held from 11 September 2019 to 5 January 2020.

DAVID ČERNÝ: CZECH NATIVITY SCENE Unique exhibition of bronze sculptures by artist David Černý represents scenic pictures of the Czech history and culture. By the form of detailed treatment of individual figures, sculptures remind of a traditional Nativity scene. The set was created for Autostadt (Wolfsburg, Germany) at the occasion of the EXPO 2000 exhibition. The Czech artist David Černý is known especially as a designer of figurative sculptures for public areas. His work includes the Pink Tank, Babies on the Žižkov Tower, Entropa, etc. Upon advance appointment, tel. 326 831 134, guided tours for basic and secondary schools may be arranged within the education of history.

price of CZK 280. LONG-TERM EXPOSITION

Exposition is divided into three thematic areas – Tradition, Evolution and Precision. In the thematic area of Tradition, values of the ŠKODA brand are described – Pride, Everyday Usability and Challenges symbolised by three pairs of cars. The area of Evolution starts with the two founders’ busts. It is dominated by a chronological line of sequential milestones of the automotive development. The area of Precision presents cars in different stages of renovation – from the stage of discovery till the stage of “treasure”. Production process of the current vehicles can be seen in the panoramic cinema.

EXCURSIONS TO PRODUCTION FACILITIES

We offer guided tours of the ŠKODA Museum expositions and guided tours in the production facilities of the ŠKODA AUTO company. 14. 11. – BURGER EVENINGWe have prepared the third burger evening for you. From 18:00, chefs from famous restaurant BURGER HOUSE & BAR HILLBILLY will prepare a degustation menu of three burgers: ROQUEFORT JOHNY BURGER, JERRY’S CHICKEN BURGER, JOE’S GOAT BURGER. Price of degustation menu is CZK 420 per person. The price includes 3 pieces of burgers. Reservation is possible at the latest until Monday 11. 11. 2019.
