Enable your customers to save energy by intelligent systems!
Improvement starts with a decision about what to implement. In most cases an energy audit is the first step. Generally, the next identified actions will be passive measures to fix the basics such as replacing inefficient devices and repairing leaks. Finally active measures for the optimisation and automation of systems are where substantial savings can be made.
Your customers are facing growing energy
prices, and the regulatory pressures to reduce
energy consumption and CO2 footprints are
increasing as well. On the other hand they do
not want to change their behaviours to cope
with increasing costs and regulations. Creating
green energy is one way to face the future‘s
energy situation. However, this still does not
resolve the conflict of growing energy consump-
tions and the demand for reduction. Intelligent
systems are required to enable your customers
to save energy while improving their comfort
and lifestyle as well.
Schneider Electric, the global specialist in ener-
gy management, provides the right solutions

Build up efficient solutions with KNX Energy Management
Create intelligent solutions from one source!
Systematic energy management leads to profitability and is better for the environ-ment. With intelligent KNX Energy Management solutions from Schneider Electric you can achieve the highest level of building control comfort as well as significant energy savings. Show your customers the green way to a better future and start by making aware of the consumption. That is where KNX Energy Management starts.
Implementing a contemporary building control
system means more than just adding some
comfort features to the electric installation. It‘s
rather a very individual and precise perception
of how a building is used, what is needed in
every single area and which applications should
be integrated to build up one dynamic system.
KNX is the perfect match by combining intelli-
gent components with an integrated overview
over both – functionalities and consumptions.
This systematic approach of an KNX Energy
Management system makes it easy to meter
not only overall consumptions for rooms, floors
or the whole building. You can even achieve
transparency in the energy use detailed down
to single devices. KNX Energy Management
starts with the right metering concept. Tracking
detailed consumptions means to collect facts
that are normally hidden in overall sums.
Let your customers benefit from these valuable
information. Start with metering the consump-
tion first, then visualise these data via diverse
devices, and finally set the KNX system to react
on present consumption levels to turn buildings
into green ones.

Second step: Visualise – make them aware of their consumption
First step: Meter – what are the facts

Energy is an important subject, not just because of increasing prices. The quest for handling ressources in a moderate way results from an increased energy awareness. KNX-based energy efficiency solutions from Schneider Electric facilitate comprehensive measuring and monitoring from one hand.
Active energy savingEnergy-saving solutions intermesh and can be
perfectly harmonised with one another in order
to put together the right system for every need.
KNX systems can be expanded with additional
solution components in such a way that even
special areas are covered. This allows maximum
energy savings with full comfort!
Measuring consumptionand reducing it automaticallySaving energy always starts with detecting
consumptions precisely. Here the KNX Energy
Meter is the first important component, as it
allows to capture the energy consumption of
single devices or device groups and to actuate
them via KNX selectively.
A second important component of KNX Energy
Management is the KNX Metering Gateway. It
connects a range of meters for different purpose
to KNX and gathers the consumption data for
subsequent evaluation. Gas and water are in-
cluded in the measurement of the consumption
as well.
In reply to the individual requirements KNX
Switch Actuators and Metering Gateway can be
customised and combined with further solutions
from Schneider Electric to achieve an individual
package solution. The Roombox connected to
presence detectors, for example, is particularly
suitable to adjust energy consumption in open-
plan office areas individually by workplaces.
Furthermore enables the PowerLogic EGX300
as an integrated gateway server the collection of
consumption data for electricity, water, gas, oil
and district heating. These data are stored and
shown via the browser.
