Traveller (FASTER – PrivBio) Project will

demonstrate and test:

• how smartphone technologies, in conjunction with

ePassports, can enhance the early screening of

travellers to Canada, while preserving and

protecting traveller privacy

• how applicants could self-identify themselves

during their online immigration application with

minimal human intervention or need to travel to a

government office abroad

• how a digital privacy preserving client token that

authenticates the client can be created to facilitate

the movement of the traveller in the travel

continuum

CSSP Priorities’ Focus

• Development, testing, and validation of new

surveillance and interdiction technologies in the

areas of biometrics and imagery that would

assist national security and intelligence agencies

in identifying terrorists, terrorist

organizations, and their supporters, as well as

their capabilities and the nature of their plans.

• Support the enhancement of targeting solutions

that make use of electronic trade data or

traveller data for the purposes of identifying

low-risk travellers and cargo and facilitating

the flow across the border.
