Working together for the Highlands 2012-2017Ag obair còmhla airson na Gàidhealtachd 2012-2017

The Highland Council has produced a programme of action, which sets out its priorities for the next fi ve years. The Council aims to create sustainable communities with more balanced population growth and economic development across the Highlands and to build a fairer and healthier Highlands.The Programme contains a total of 129 commitments across seven main themes. The themes are:

people; Working together for caring communities; Working together for better infrastructure;

Working together for better housing; Working together to empower our

communities; and Working together for strong and safe

communities.

About The Highland CouncilMu Chomhairle Na GàidhealtachdWe are one of 32 all-purpose councils in Scotland, serving over 222,000 people across 26,484 sq km.

MembershipThe Council has 80 elected members, serving on 14 four-member wards and 8 three-member wards. Members will serve on the Council until 2017. The representation is:
