Sure, warmer weather is here, and you’ve been cooped up all winter. But, before you start right in on that new landscaping project or that new deck at the first sign of warmth, you should resist the urge to grab your shovel. First things first: contact Miss Utility Virginia 811 (by phone when you dial 8-1-1 or online at 811now.com) so member utilities, including ODP, can mark any underground wires or pipelines – electric, cable and water. That simple move can save you an expensive repair or a serious injury. Calling at least two business days before starting any digging project (it’s the law) will allow you to proceed without worry. And did we mention the service is free? With a little thoughtful planning, you’ll be able to plant a shrub or dig a posthole with the full knowledge that you won’t lose your power or dig into any of your underground utility lines. THERE’S MORE

April is National Safe Digging Month (and that’s no April Fool’s joke). Sure, warmer weather is here, and you’ve been cooped up all winter. But, before you start right in on that new landscaping project or that new deck at the first sign of warmth, you should resist the urge to grab

KNOW WHERE IT’S SAFE TO GOBEFORE YOU DIG THAT HOLE

ODP appreciates all our crews who work every day – overhead, underground, in substations, from metro city streets to scenic country roads – to ensure our customers have safe, reliable service.

SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT ON OUR LINE TECHNICIANS

Every day, whether it’s blue sky conditions or in the midst of a historic storm event, line technicians work in the elements to ensure their community has safe, reliable power. And if power’s interrupted, you can count on them to be there to restore service safely and as quickly as possible.

Did you know line technicians work overhead, underground, in substations and on equipment spanning our entire electric system?

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNTWhen it comes to your ODP account, we want to help simplify your life by making it as easy as possible to manage that account and take advantage of opportunities to save money, stay safe and give back to your community.

Here are a few suggestions:

DO:

• Create an online account at my.lge-ku.com so you can access your account anytime from anywhere day or night.

• Sign up for My Notifications to receive text alerts, emails and/or phone calls reminding you about your monthly bill. Visit lge-ku.com/notifications for more information.

• Consider making a monthly donation to WinterShare. Simply check the box on your bill.

• Visit lge-ku.com to find out about energy efficiency, learn how we’re planning for the future, review how to stay safe around electricity and read about a variety of other programs and initiatives.

DON’T:

• Fall for scammers. ODP will NEVER call to demand payment or ask for a credit card number or debit card number or any other form of personal ID.

• Forget to sign up for outage texting. Visit lge-ku.com/outages to learn more.

You may be renting the property where you live, but that shouldn’t stop you from taking some easy steps to improve energy efficiency. Here are a few:

• Replace your showerhead with a low-flow model.

• Replace any incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs.

• Use insulated drapes for the windows.

• Install water aerators in the faucets.

• Place draft stoppers around windows and doors to keep cold air from entering in the winter and cool air from escaping in the summer.

• Use foam gaskets in place of rubber gaskets.

Visit lge-ku.com/toolbox for more energy-saving tips.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO OWN YOUR HOME TO MAKE ENERGY–SAVING IMPROVEMENTS

ONLINE BILL PAYING: EASY, FAST, SAFE AND SECUREOne of the easiest ways to pay your monthly ODP bill is to do it online. No more writing a paper check, putting it in an envelope, paying for postage and dropping the envelope in the mailbox. All you have to do is sign in to your online account (create one easily at my.lge-ku.com), and you’ll be able to view your current bill as well as previous bills. Once you’ve reviewed your bill, you have a couple of options to make payment safely and securely:

• Pay with Auto Pay, which automatically deducts your payment from your bank account on the due date. You’ll still receive a monthly billing statement, allowing you to verify the information and record the date and amount of the withdrawal.

• Pay by electronic checking or ATM/debit, credit or check card. Please note that payment made by electronic checking is free; however, the third-party vendor that processes our online card payments applies a transaction fee to credit and debit card payments.

If you want to bypass paper altogether, opt for ODP’s paperless billing option and start receiving your monthly bill via email. The email, which includes a secure link where you can view your complete bill, shows you the amount due and the payment due date. You might also consider signing up for My Notifications to receive reminders by text, email and/or voice call. You choose when you want to be notified – when your bill is ready for viewing, five days before it’s due or one day past the payment due date (only when your payment has not been received). Visit lge-ku.com/paymybill to learn more.
