End of Easter Week greetings to each of you! Lent is over and the Easter Season has begun — going all the way to Pentecost, 50 days after Easter. Throughout this season in our liturgies we follow the disciples in their growing understanding of all that happened at the Resurrection and how they are equipped to spread the truly Good News. May this season deepen within us a deep friendship with Jesus, complete with trust, surrender, and eagerness to witness by our lives to what we have experienced in Him! And, many thanks to all who do so much here at Holy Trinity in seasons like this: our musicians,

liturgical ministers, decorators, RCIA team, live stream operators, and our wonderful staff that coordinates all of this. Well done, good and faithful servants! It is a pleasure for me to serve with you. Blessings to Sky Arenz and Gavin Gorman, who were baptized last week at our School Mass, and to Kovu Reigns Delos Santos, Winifred Gorman, and Isaiah Macaranas, who were baptized this weekend! Last week, funeral services were held for Richard Thompson. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.

GREETINGS FROM F R . DAVE

Envelopes are in the

narthex for the Catholic

Relief Services Collection

(CRSC), which helps to

provide for international

relief and solidarity efforts

through six different

Catholic agencies. We

delayed this second

collection due to the

timing of the ACA collection and Easter holiday.

Through your generosity, the CRSC supports programs that

offer relief and resettlement for victims of persecution, war, and

natural disasters; develop projects to improving living conditions

for the poor; provide legal services to immigrants; support peace

and reconciliation work for people suffering from violence; and

advocate for the powerless.

From the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, CRS has

coordinated with health ministries and the WHO to respond to

country-specific priorities, reaching over 10 million people to

date with comprehensive programming to bolster the capacity of

local health responders and assist extremely vulnerable families

with the compounded impacts of the pandemic.

Help Jesus as he bears the disguise of the vulnerable refugee,

the immigrant family, and the poor and marginalized. You can

learn more and donate through our website at h-t.org/donate.

F AITH F ORMATION

Resurrection — it changes everything! We will read through the Acts of the Apostles throughout the Easter season. The first thing we notice is the change in the apostles and Jesus’ disciples; are you catching it? They aren’t afraid anymore! Suddenly, they are testifying to the TRUTH, fearlessly speaking truth to power. When you experience resurrection and its implications, it changes everything! It demands a different way of thinking and way of life.

Notice something else? The bad people were still bad, and the world was still broken! Instead, those touched by Jesus’ rising from the dead were different, inspired, infused by this new reality and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and they, through their belief in Jesus Christ, were the ones to be the change! That’s true today as well.

I remind us all that, although the church waits 50 days to celebrate Pentecost, you and I don’t have to wait. By the grace we have received through our sacraments, we have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit to access at every given moment in our daily lives.

Now with the reminder of Resurrection, after celebrating the great feast of Easter, let’s allow what we believe and hold true about Christ to inspire us to change everything around us with our certainty of Christ, risen from the dead! With our faith, let us change the world!

Happy Easter, everybody! +

NUMBER OF PEOPLE SERVED HAPPY EASTER! We prayed, fasted, and gave alms — and now we rejoice because Christ is risen! Our journey with CRS Rice Bowl challenges us as we begin the Easter season to share the joy of having a loving God that is alive and who accompanies us always. Let’s do the same by being present to our global family by

caring for their material and spiritual needs. Our parish community changed lives this Lent through CRS Rice Bowl, collectively donating over $4,000! If you haven’t already, be sure to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl at Mass or to the parish office. Thank you for supporting God’s family around the world!

The Second Sunday of Easter is also known as the Sunday of Divine Mercy. It provides an important opportunity to share Christ’s message of mercy, especially with those who have been wounded by participation in abortion. By the age of 45, as

many as 1 in 3 women have had an abortion, and a similar number of men and family members have been involved. Many inaccurately feel that abortion is “the unforgivable sin.” They need to hear that God forgives every sin of a repentant heart, even the sin of abortion. In fact, Jesus’ message to St. Faustina is the greater the sinner, the greater the right to His mercy.

Rachel’s Vineyard is the abortion healing ministry of the Catholic Church in the United States. It is a diocesan-based network of specially trained priests, religious, therapists and laypersons who provide a team response of care for those suffering in the aftermath of abortion. The ministry also provides an integrated network of services that includes pastoral counseling, support groups, and referrals to licensed mental health professionals.
