    INTERNAL / EXTERNAL JOB POSTINGKitsilano Neighbourhood House

    Seniors Programmer Part Time Position

    Job Purpose:The Seniors Programmer will work collaboratively and under the direction of the SeniorsCoordinator to develop and implement the Seniors for Seniors Project. This is a senior-led initiative that will engage local seniors and community partners to create a one-stopSeniors Resource Centre.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Actively engage seniors in project development and decision making Develop annual Communication Plan Facilitate meetings, community dialogues and group activities Develop a Train-the-Trainer Manual for Info & Referral volunteer program Implement community development principles in planning, capacity building, and

    working with committees Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders of the project Collaborate with staff and volunteers as part of a larger community support team Develop Outcome Measurement Framework for project Monitor project outcomes and prepare annual report for funders Collate project learnings into a Best Practices Manual and Asset Map Provide leadership in the development of a Seniors Hub on the Westside

    Qualifications:

    Post Secondary degree in a relevant field or suitable combination of education and

    experience Demonstrated experience implementing a project to completion Knowledge of seniors issues and local community resources Experience training and supporting volunteers Experience in group facilitation and community engagement Commitment to the Neighbourhood House Model of service delivery Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to work flexible hours and participate in KNH special events Strong computer skills in MS Office, data management, and presentation software Second language an asset Criminal record check required Drivers license and a car / access to a car required

    Job Details:Salary: $18.47 / hour + benefitsSchedule: 21 hours weekly, schedule to be determined.Location: Kits House Seniors Resource Centre at 8th & Vine St., VancouverExpected Start Date: As soon as possible
