MMS = Motion Made and Sustained

The mission of Hull Christian School is to educate covenant children in the light of God’s Word, preparing them for a life of Christian discipleship,

responsible stewardship and humble service in His kingdom.

“While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She

wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Luke 2: 6-7

The faculty and staff of Hull Christian School wish you a blessed and joyous Christmas. We celebrate because God sent his only begotten Son that we might find life and have it abundantly. It is with joy that we serve this sovereign God through Christian education. Education without God would be as empty as Christmas without Christ. Give all praise and glory to God who reigns supreme!

Captain Bree & Her Lady Pirates

The 6th, 7th, & 8th graders used their God-given talents on a wonderful musical entitled “Captain Bree and Her Lady Pirates” on Tuesday, Nov. 22. They entertained audiences at a 1:30 PM matinee and a 7:00 PM performance. We thank the students for the work they put into memorizing lines and songs. We also give a huge thanks to Mrs. Van Maanen & Mrs. Westra who directed the play and the many volunteers who helped make the sets, run the sound, etc.

Veterans Day Lunch - On Nov. 9 we were privileged to have many veterans join their families at HCS for lunch in appreciation of the time they have given in service to our country. We were honored to be able to recognize them for the sacrifices they made for us!

Thank You . . .

String & 5th-8th Grade Band & Choir Concert There will be a Christmas Concert featuring our strings program and the 5th-8th grade bands &

choirs on Thursday, December 8. A matinee performance will take place at 8:30 AM in the gym. They will also be performing at 7:00 PM in the gym. All are welcome to enjoy the sounds of Christmas!

PK-4th Program

On Thursday, January 12 the Preschool through 1st graders will give the program “Thankful Me”. The 2nd through 4th graders will be performing a number of spirituals. Come listen to our younger

students using their voices to praise the Lord. Parent-Teacher Conferences Well Attended - HCS held Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday & Tuesday, Nov. 7 & 8. This was a great opportunity for parents to encourage teachers and vice versa. Together we have an awesome responsibility to edu-cate covenant children in the light of God’s Word! Thanks for the great attendance!

Christmas Giving Project - Each year to help celebrate Christmas at HCS, we have a Christmas Giving Project. This helps everyone remember the Gift God gave to us. This year our project is a 3 day 100% juice box challenge. Classes at HCS will be teaming up with classes at Boyden Hull (i.e. 2nd graders from HCS and Boyden Hull are a team) to see how many juice boxes each grade can bring in! The juice boxes will be donated to the Hull/Boyden Sack Pack Program which provides supplemental food for children to take home on the weekends. Students will bring the boxes in from December 5-7.

November Chapel - The November Chapel theme was iThank! Mrs. Negen, Mr. Ten Pas, and the 5th grade students talked about things we are thankful for and challenged us to help others in our local community. The Christmas Giving Project for this year was introduced (see below).

Preschool Bread Making - Our preschool classes read the story of The Little Red Hen. This spurred an interest in learning to make bread. Students measured and added the right amount of each ingredient, kneaded the dough, waited patiently for the dough to rise, formed it into shapes, baked it, and then enjoyed eating their bread. (pictured on the left: the PM class tasting their work.)

November Election - With this being a Presidential election year, Hull Christian took time to talk about our government and the election in a number of ways: State Senator Randy Feenstra spoke to 5th-8th graders about the tasks of those in government; a mock election was held with campaigning, speeches, and a school wide vote (pictured on

the right: Presidential Candidates Emily Zuidema and Jacob Christians); many grades worked through booklets explaining government and the voting process; and we continually keep our country, government, and elected officials in our prayers.

Thanksgiving - The 2nd graders learned about the first Thanksgiving by making pilgrim and wampanoug costumes and putting on a play for the 1st & 3rd graders.

We appreciate the work of the tournament and concession committees.

Soup Supper Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed a delicious meal at the soup supper on Thursday, November 3. We had a successful evening! Thank you to parents who donated food and/or worked at the supper. It is encouraging to see the dedication to help raise money for Hull Christian.

Box Tops

The Box Top Committee is challenging the students to bring in 500 Box Tops from now until Christmas Break. If this challenge is met, many of the teachers have agreed to do a lip-sync to the song “Rock’n Around the Christmas Tree” during the last day before Christmas break, Tues., Dec. 20. Mr. Ten Pas has agreed to BE the Christmas tree for the song if the students bring in 750 Box Tops or more. There will be a chart next to the Box Top bucket in the office so students can check the progress towards their goal. There isn’t much time! Get clipping and collecting to make the teachers have a “Rock’n” Christmas!

Ecophones, Ink Cartridges, and WagonWheels

Don’t forget to save old cell phones, ink cartridges, and Pizza Ranch Wagon Wheels. There are drop offs at HCS, First CRC, and Hope CRC.
