Klett. COLONY MARKER AND TALLY. For the rapid and accurate counting of colonies. Marks and records at the same time, leaving per­manent record for rechecking. When all of the colonies in an area or dish have been marked, the tally is read and then is reset to zero with the reset knob. Plates that would be considered too crowded for counting by the usual method can be counted easily with this instrument. The counting opera­tion can be interrupted at any point without caus­ing errors. Complete with pen and extension cord. For operation on 115 volt, A.C., 60 cycle.

The visual color­imeter illustrated presents a num­ber of outstand­ing features mak­ing it ideal for c l i n i c a l o r r e ­search work. Built on the most modern mechanical and op­tical principles it is widely accepted for accuracy and dur­ability.

ENZYME ASSAYS SIMPLIFIED . .WITH THE

MULTIPLE SAMPLE ABSORBANCE RECORDER Four assays of blood serum from the same patient demonstrate a produc­tive clinical use of the Gilford 2000. Plotted on the same chart for comparison, the separate registrations were traced from a series of routine recordings of assays on several patients, run on the same time base and at the same temperature.

Noteworthy considerations are: (1) Time of determinations—5 minutes. (2) Rapid slope analysis—linear wth absorbance. (3) 4-channel recording capability—with automatic sample positioning. (4) Linear temperature re­cording—through an auxiliary fifth channel. (5) Controlled separation of the registrations—by means of an auxiliary multi-channel offset control, per­mitting a full-scale setting of 0 to 1.0 absorbance units.

Output linear with absorbance over a range of 0 to 3.0 units, sensitivity to read to 0.001 of a unit, direct data presentation and long term stability give the Gilford 2000 the essential characteristics to greatly speed and simplify a wide variety of analytical determinations.
