FINAL NOTICE Training Opportunity – CHAINSAW COURSE
Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Natural Resource and Wildlife Department in association with REXFORET is offering a 14 week course for chainsaw training, or until weather conditions are too severe. We will be selecting 8 KZA registered members for this course. The course will consist of a theory portion and in-field practical.
Training is anticipated to start August 31 to December 4, 2015 for duration of 14 weeks.
Chainsaw Trainees - $ 11.68 /hour plus equipment
Application Deadline: July 22, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Band Office Note: No other applications will be accepted after this date.
Training will be occurring in both the field and classroom. Topics that will be covered in the course include mechanics of chainsaw, sharpening, tools, discussing work plans, notches, precision felling, de-limbing, bucking and placement of logs. Trainees will be assessed each week, by quality and quantity. Following are some basic rules and regulations:
Participants are to be on time and in good physical shape every day Participants must bring all necessary safety equipment and tools to the site everyday Participants must be willing to listen and learn
Participants must comply with the rules and regulations at all times and show a real interest in this course, it is not to be taken lightly as this is a preliminary for future possible employment opportunities and training. Those who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be kept in the team.
As in past year, interviews will be held in collaboration with Rexforet. After the closing date, interviews will be scheduled through phone calls. Please ensure that you can be reached at the numbers given. If we cannot reach you no interview will be set up. receivables and payroll Provide financial and accounting advice, direction and leadership Ensure compliance with financial legislation, policies and procedures and adhere to the

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Finance Manager Trainee reports initially to the Finance Supervisor and Comptroller/Community Services Director and is responsible for assuming all managerial functions related to sound fiscal management. As a Trainee, the incumbent will assume the eventual responsibility of conducting all tasks related to the financial analysis and preparation of financial reports; developing and implementing an effective accounting system; managing the payroll system and maintaining accurate and current records.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Interpersonal Relationships
Maintains proper working relationships with colleagues, clients directors, and KZA Chief and Council, Funders.
Leadership Takes a leadership role in managing a financial sector and all related financial matters
High level of confidentiality and discretion is required
Team work Supports and creates team work in Finance and KZA sectors. External communications Communicate daily with the clients, contractors and directors;
Communicates with the external Auditor and funding agencies; Able to communicate daily in English and French, if necessary

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Deadlines Meets financial reporting deadlines monthly, quarterly and yearly, and as requested by KZA Directors/Chief and Council.
Mental and physical effort The incumbent must spend long hours in intense concentration. The incumbent must also spend long hours on the computer conducting financial analysis and preparing detailed reports which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. Fluctuating stress levels may be in the medium to medium high range.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Education and Experience Certified General accountant (CGA/CPA) or Chartered
Accountant (CA), CAFM or a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field or a College Diploma in Business Administration (Accounting) from a recognized public post secondary institution;
2 years of experience in financial management, accounting, finance, auditing or a related field;
Experience in carrying out audits and working with auditors; Experience in supervising employees;
Skills and knowledge
Ability to read and write in English at a competent level; Ability to communicate in French is an asset; Computer literacy in financial software is required; Standard office computer literacy, instant messaging and use of
the Internet. Conditions of employment Medical Certificate of good health is required;
Enhanced reliability check will be required in order to be considered for the position;
Must not possess any criminal convictions; Legally able to work in Canada
