HOW TO SIZE YOURKITCHEN VENTILATION SYSTEM
Before choosing your kitchen ventilation fan checkwith your local residential codes and the range manufacturer’s recommendations. If rangemanufacturer’s recommendationsare not available, use the informationat right to calculate the fan size.
These recommendations followthe guidelines of the HomeVentilating Institute (HVI).
KITCHEN VENTILATION SOLUTIONS
Wall Mount Installations:100 CFM per foot of width.
Example: 36" (3 ft.) widehood will require 300 CFM.
Feet of Width 3CFM per Foot x 100
Air Flow [CFM] 300
Island Mount Installations:150 CFM per foot of width.
Example: 36" (3 ft.) widehood will require 450 CFM.

Note: When using a gas cooktopor range, it is recommended thatthe hood liner be 6" wider thanthe cooktop.

LD SERIES SilencersGalvanized steel silencer for use in kitchen range hood ventilation and other applications were noise is a concern. A Fantech silencer can typicallyreduce the “perceived” sound level of the kitchen ventilation system bymore than 50%. Units feature rubber seal on inlet and outlet.
