    Afterthegluedries,thedischargeplateiscoveredwithathinplasticsheetapproximately.005inchthick.Theplasticshouldextendatleast1"pastthedischargeplateonallsides.Thesheetissecuredinplacebytapingorgluingitdown.

    Thethicknessoftheplasticsheetisn'tcritical.Anythingaroundthisthicknessthatwillpreventtheobjectfrommakingdirectcontactwiththedischargeplate.Sheetsareavailablefrommanyartanddraftingsupplystores.Theplasticsheetmaybetransparentoropaque,itdoesn'tmatter.

    Totestthecircuit,attachawiretopointAshownontheschematicandplacetheotherwireabout"awayfromthedischargeplateortheuninsulatedendofthehighvoltagewire.Notethedischargeplateshouldnothavetheplasticsheetcoveringitduringthetest.EverytimeyouflicktheswitchSW1youshouldseeasparkjumpfromtheHVwiretothedischargeplate.

    Whenthecircuitchecksoutproperly,mountthecomponentsontheboardusingglueorepoxy.

    Coatanyexposedwireswithaplasticspraytoprovideinsulation(NoArcsprayisavailableatyourlocalRadioShackstores.)

    Coverdischargeplatewithplasticsheet.
