    To Start Scanning Graphics:

    1. Place the item to be scanned face down in the upper right-hand corner of

the scanner, as straight as possible. (The item should be flush against the

    scanners edge.)

    2. Click the Start button, and then click once on the Adobe Photoshop

    application.

    3. Under the File menu select Import, and then select Epson TWAIN or HP

ScanJet. Click Preview Scan if HP ScanJet is selected.

    4. Crop the Image Move the solid line around the image by holding down

the left mouse button and dragging the cursor over the image. Enclose the

area that you want to scan. Do not cut anything off, but crop unnecessary

areas out, to reduce file size.

    5. Select Path (resolution) Images intended for printing should be scannedat twice the resolution of the halftone screen of your printer. Most office

printers do not require resolutions greater than 170 dpi. The following table

lists some sample resolutions. Contact a Kinkos team member for specific

recommendations for the scanner you are using.

    Internet/On-Screen 72 dpi

Acetate (for slides or overheads) 150 dpi
