UK University Preparation Courses 2015 – 2016 Prices, dates and key information
Extended A-levelThe Extended A-level is designed for students
with lower language levels who intend to follow a
main A-level course. It develops language
proficiency to the level required for the demands
of A-level, while also developing academic study
skills and providing academic subject enrichment
in preparation for the main A-level syllabus.
Advanced Level FoundationThis intensive one-year foundation course is for
students who are seeking places at leading UK
universities. It is based on the A-level syllabus and
recognised by a wide variety of UK Higher
Education institutions.
Extended FoundationThis course includes an academic year which
introduces academic subjects and language
development prior to studying Advanced Level
Foundation. It offers an alternative to a two-year
A-level for students with a lower language entry
point who require a more incremental approach.
GCSEThis course is for students aged 14 or 15 who want
a pathway to a British university and have not yet
finished High School education in their home
country. We will determine the right path for
every student — from a three-term accelerated
course to a two-year programme.
International High School Programme
This programme provides development in English
and academic subjects within an international
high school. Students follow a British curriculum
within a small class environment, and have the
opportunity to sit formal British exams.
Level 4 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality
This course is for students who want fast-track
entry to Year 2 of a degree course in Tourism and
Hospitality Management, or to begin a career at
junior management level.
University of Aberdeen Second Year Entry Programme
This accelerated programme is offered in
partnership with the University of Aberdeen and
provides a dedicated pathway to second year
entry on a range of undergraduate degrees,
including Chemical Engineering, Civil
Engineering, Geoscience, Business and Petroleum
Engineering.
A-levelThis course is for the most able students who are
seeking places on competitive degree courses at the
most elite universities in the UK or internationally.
Art and Design Preparation Programme
This course is perfect for students who need to
develop their portfolio and/or their language level
prior to a main art-related course. As such is it
highly flexible and adaptable to their specific
needs, and has been carefully designed to
integrate with several art-related programmes
at Kings.
Art FoundationThis course is for students wanting the fastest,
most direct path to an art and design-related
degree course at a UK university.
International Business FoundationThis course is for students who want either a
recognised, stand-alone business qualification, or
are intending to use it to progress to a university
degree course related to business or
management.
Tourism and Hospitality Management Foundation
This course is for students who want to progress
to a university degree course related to tourism
and hospitality management, or to a career in
this sector.
IELTS Preparation CourseThis course is for students who need an intensive
course of 28 lessons per week to develop general
language skills while also gaining specialist
preparation for the IELTS exam.
Super Intensive IELTSThis course is for students who need a full-time,
very intensive course which concentrates 100%
on skills for IELTS and offers thorough preparation
for the exam in as short a time as possible.
English for Academic StudyThis course is for students who do not yet have
the English language level needed to start a Kings
pre-university course, and who need careful and
thorough preparation for the intellectual and
linguistic demands of GCSE, A-level or Kings
Foundation courses.
Academic Summer ProgrammeThis prestigious course is delivered at Christ
Church College, Oxford. It is designed to prepare
students for the English-speaking academic
world. Aimed at learners who are contemplating
taking a degree course in an English-speaking
university, the course provides them with the
necessary linguistic, study and thinking skills to
maximise their potential.
Graduate Preparation ProgrammeThis course is ideal if you have already completed
an undergraduate degree and want to study at
Masters level in the UK. It provides intensive
academic study skills and IELTS preparation, and
will ensure a Conditional Letter of Acceptance
from a range of partner universities.
