2. The Five Kingdoms of LifeThe five Kingdoms of life are: PlantsAnimals FungiMoneraProtista 3. PlantsThere are many different kinds of plants. There areannuals, biennials, perennials, gymnosperms, andangiosperms.Annuals are plants that live for one year. Biennials are plants that live for two years.Perennials are plants that live for more than two years. Gymnosperms are plants that produce seeds. Angiosperms are plants that produce flowers. 4. AnimalsThere are two main types of animals.There are vertebrates ( Animals withbackbones ) and invertebrates(animals without backbones). 5. Animals VertebratesThere are five different kinds of vertebrates. They are,Fish AmphibiansReptilesMammals Birds 6. Fish Fish are cold-blooded animals 7. AmphibiansAmphibians are cold-blooded animals 8. Reptiles are cold-blooded animals.Reptiles 9. Mammals are warm-blooded animalsMammals 10. Birds are warm-blooded animals Birds 11. AnimalsInvertebrates There are many invertebrates all around the world such as worms, spiders, and ants. 12. Invertebrates 13. Fungi are one of the kingdomsof life which are referred to asplant-like organisms that do notuse chlorophyll. They usuallylike dark and damp places suchas forest floors or basements. 14. Fungi 15. MoneraMonera are blue-green algaeand bacteria. They are theonly organisms with cells thatdo not have nuclei andorganelles. 16. Monera 17. ProtistaProtista are singe-celled organisms. Theyhave nuclei and organelles in their cellscytoplasm. Protista grow and reproduce inmoist areas. There are two main types ofprotista which are plant-like protista andanimal-like protista. 18. Like plants, these type ofprotista have chlorophyll.Plant-like protista producemost of the worlds oxygen!They are an important partin plankton and othermicroscopic things in thesea. Some plant-likeprotista are able to movesuch as Euglena anddinoflagellates. 19. Animal-like protista are calledProtozoa. Some Protozoa havecillia (hair-like structures) stickingout of their cells.
