This Bid Clarification forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original bidding documents. Please acknowledge receipt of this Bid clarification in your bid proposal. Failure to do so may subject bidder to disqualification. GENERAL NOTES: 1) Bid date and time remains Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 1 PM. 2) Sealed Bids will be received at the following location: King’s College Administrative Building 1st Floor Business Office 133 North River Street Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711 Attention: Dr. Lisa Marie McCauley Please mark envelopes “CONFIDENTIAL” 3) All Bidders’ Requests for Information are to be sent to Sordoni Construction Services no later
than Friday, October 21, 2011 by 4:00 PM. 4) A non-mandatory prebid meeting will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 1:00 PM
in Room A009 which is located on the lower level of the Administration Building on North River Street.

October 18, 2011 ALL BID PACKAGES: (continued) 3) Attached is Drawing A2.03 titled Foundation–Brick Shelf dated 10-11-2011 issued by Spillman-
Farmer Architects for incorporation into your bid proposals. 4) Reference Attachment No. 1 – Subcontractor Supplemental Scope of Work, Item #3 on page 5,
subparagraph ‘e’: Delete the words “furnished and” in regards to the dumpsters required for the project. Bidders are required to follow the instructions located in Attachment 2A – Bid Package Outline Scope Outlines pertaining to dumpsters and debris removal.
5) Reference Attachment No. 1 – Subcontractor Supplemental Scope of Work, Item #5 on page 5
and Section 01,1000, page 5, paragraph “M”: King’s College is a Pennsylvania Tax Exempt institution. However, bidders are required to review Pennsylvania ACT 45 Guidelines and include all applicable taxes as in accordance with Act 45. See Attachment No. 19 in the specifications for further clarification.
6) Bid Bonds are not required; however, each bidder must review Attachment No. 2A – Bid
Package Outline Scope Items to determine if their Bid Package requires an Alternate Add for a Performance and Labor/Material Payment Bond.
7) The following items are added to Attachment No. 2 - General Bid Package Scope Items:
AQ) This project requires a thorough understanding of all the bid documents, site logistics, and actual field conditions. Each subcontractor is to include all costs in their bid to cover the appropriate and adequate field supervision and corresponding office (and/or field stationed) management support during construction.
AR) As part of your bid, subcontractors (bidders) must consider and include the costs and
operational effects of any site logistic issues in preparation of their bids and during the execution of their work.
AS) All deliveries must be coordinated with the project requirements and activities of other
subtrades. All deliveries shall be adjusted, as needed, according to size permissible by the site logistics and any limiting conditions during the construction of the project, or any cost associated with this work is to be included as part of your bid.

Bid Package 0241 – Selective Demolition 1) The scope of work for this bid package is modified as follows - Reference Attachment 2A – Bid
Package Outline Scope Items for Bid Package 0241; Item #14 on page 1: a) Include Demolition Notes #1, #2, #3, #5, #6, # 7, #8, #9, #11, #13, and #14 and General Notes #1 and #2 on Drawing A1.01.
b) Include removing all existing ceiling finishes to allow work above ceilings as described in Demolition Note #12 on Drawing A1.01.
c) Include removing existing ceiling finish as required to allow for work above ceilings as described in Demolition Note #15.on Drawing A1.01
Bid Package 0420 – Unit Masonry – Furnish and Install 1) Bidders are responsible for Demolition Notes #4 and Note #10 as applicable to any masonry
walls on Drawing A1.01. Bid Package 0610 - Carpentry / Millwork - (Furnish & Install) 1) The following item is added to the scope of work for this Bid Package: Maintenance of the
OHSA compliant perimeter roof protection (initially furnished and installed under the Roofing Bid Package) following the installation of the roof system. Remove the perimeter roof protection when directed by the CM.
Bid Package 0650 - Doors-Frames-Hardware / Specialties- (Furnish & Install): 1) See attached responses to RFI No. 10 and No. 14. Bid Package 0750 - Waterproofing / Membrane Roofing System / Roof Specialties & Accessories - Furnish & Install 1) This Bid Package is responsible for furnishing, installing, and maintaining the OSHA compliant
perimeter roof protection during the installation of the roof systems. However, following the installation of the roof systems, the maintenance and final removal of the perimeter roof protection is to be included by Bid Package 0610.
