King Offa Primary Academy Newsletter ~ May 2013 Down Road, Bexhill on Sea, TN39 4HS 01424 211548 [email protected] www.kingoffaprimaryacademy.org Dear Parents, Many thanks for the overwhelming support you showed for King Offa by supporting our Summer Spectacular so well. It was a wonderful afternoon which raised £1200. Thank you very much! KOSA members worked very hard to put on such a great event and we are extremely grateful to them. We will keep you updated on how the money is used to benefit the children. You may have noticed the building works that are going on behind our school. East Sussex County Council have begun work on building a brand new nursery that will accommodate Bexhill High Nursery which is currently housed in the old KDR building. For a few weeks we couldn’t access our top playground or field but I am pleased to say we can now do so again. We are always looking for ways to improve and know that good communication between home and school is essential. From next term we are going to be publishing a weekly newsletter to keep you updated about life at King Offa. At the end of each term we will also publish a longer newsletter with information about the forthcoming term. As always any feedback is welcome. Finally I want to say an enormous well done to all the children and teachers for the amazing Paragon events this week. Thank you to everyone who came and supported the children and joined in with the celebrations of all their learning. Please look out for photos going up around the academy! Year 3 & 4 Trip to theNatural History Museum

On Monday 13 May Years 3 & 4 had awonderful visit to the Natural History Museumin London. They thoroughly enjoyed it; hereare comments from a couple of the children.

I liked the Natural History Museum becausethere were a lot of interesting things to look at.

The investigating room was really good becausethere were a lot of things you could touch, holdand investigate on. My favourite thing was thejewels.

Milly Duffy

The investigation room was amazing becausethey had lots of different historical objects thatyou could feel, hold and examine.

They had trays full of rocks and minerals, shellsand even animals (insects). There was a wholesection in the museum with dead stuffedanimals from dodos to ferocious lions.

It was fantastic!
