Objective: Ladies will realize that every woman shines her “light” at different intensities from one another as well as at different times throughout her Christian walk.
Scriptural Emphasis: Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Decorations: Various kinds of lights (see below for suggestions)
Prayer Reminder/Love Token: Make a bookmark with the theme information for the year on the front and the various types of lights with Scripture references from below on the back. See optional bookmark.
Menu: “City-fare” (for a city on a hill). Choose various cities and pick its best know dish. Example: Philadelphia--cheesesteaks, soft pretzels; Cincinnati--chili; Boston--baked beans; Chicago--deep dish pizza; etc.
Music: “Salt & Light” Jamie Smith; “My Romance” Christ for the Nations; “The Doxology” Thomas Ken
Program Highlights: Fall Kick-off Following is a list of different kinds of light, the quality each light represents, a brief description, and a scripture reference. These thoughts could be developed with examples by a single speaker or by several women sharing their own examples.

PWOC International Presents the 2010 - 2011 Theme:
New Testament Scripture:Matthew 5: 13-16 NKJV
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its avor, how shall it
be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and
trampled underfoot by men. You are the light
of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they
light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it
gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Old Testament Scripture:Isaiah 60: 1-2 NKJV
“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is
risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His
glory will be seen upon you.”
