Co-operative Learning provides a student-centred approach where students work in small teams to help each other to learn. Co-operation forms the basis of effective relationship building so lessons are structured in such a way that students need each other to complete tasks. Introduction to Mindfulness for Teachers
The aims of this introductory session on Mindfulness fo those in the teaching profession are to provide an overview of Mindfulness, its roots, current practice and potential within the educational environment, to support the teaching professional to take some time to begin and nurture the seeds of Mindfulness in their own daily life, and to explore possibilities/resources for integrating practices into the educational environment.

This course aims to provide the knowledge and skills to help teachers create a positive, happy and stress-free school and classroom environment conducive to effective teaching and learning and effectively deal with and reduce instances of bullying and confrontation. This course also aims to use meditation skills to resolve disputes and manage conflict effectively and harness the natural and innate capacity to become more effective as a teacher.

This Stage 3 workshop provides methods for teachers to help children’s educational development in general, with a specific focus on Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. Suitable for Learning Support and Class teachers, this course aims to equip teachers with insights and an effective group of exercises to carry into their day-to-day work, so that an improvement may be made, both to the children’s overall development and to the struggles of individual school children.

Museum in a Box (Handling Box)
Young Economist of the Year Kilkenny Education Centre AGM
A project in collaboration between Kilkenny Education Centre and The National Museum of Ireland. The Handling Box contains replica artefacts of Iron and Stone Age materials. It is a useful mechanism for students to actually handle spear heads, flint, cloth etc.
