Some people may also benefit by learning unknown English words fromthe Gïgìkúyü words. Some words have been modified from one part ofspeech to another depending on usage of the word, to give the reader abroader view ofthe word's meaning.

To differentiate the different forms of words, v. is used for verb, adj. foradjective, n. for nouns,p/. for plural.

A person who has leamt the language will beidentified, by how he or she treats tÌìese two voweÌs.

'b' has an 'f sound, and úere is no 'f, and 'v' in the GÌgìtüyü alphabet.'c' has an 's' sound, and 's', 'sh-', and 'ch' are not in the language. 'b -sound', like in the word 'book', comes fiom the combination of 'mb-'.
