RACE INFORMATION This race pack contains your race number and your timing chip which is a foam strip attached to the back of your race number. DO NOT try to remove the chip from the bib or you will destroy the chip. Please make sure you attach your number securely to your running top with safety pins. The foam timing chip is required for your time and position. You do not need to remove it at the end of the race. You will need to show your number to enter the secure baggage area before and after the race. DO NOT hand your race number to another runner. This is very important for health and safety reasons and is a serious breach of UK Athletics rules resulting in disqualification and bans to both parties. If you have lost or forgotten your race number, please go to the event information next to the finish line or transition area where you will be allocated a replacement race number. RUN BIKE RUN TEAM ENTRANTS Your pack contains three numbers each with a foam timing chip attached. There is a race number for each team member and each leg will be timed electronically. Your pack also contains your bike identification number, please attach this securely to your bike. KEY TIMINGS 10:30 – Shuttle bus starts from Kielder Village 10:30 – Shuttle bus starts from Hawkhirst 10:45 – Race Information Opens 12:30 – Runners must be at Kielder Waterside Park 13:00 –Race Starts (10K AND Run Bike Run) BAGGAGE Baggage is to be left in secured areas in the marquee. Bags should be stored in the area allocated according to your race number. Please make sure you can identify your bag. The baggage area will be secure and only accessible by race competitors on presentation of your race number. FIRST AID A course doctor and medical units will be available at the start / finish area. First aid will be available on the course. Cycle units and mountain rescue personnel will also be on the course and will alert the medical teams if required. TOILETS There will be toilets in the assembly area at the start line. Ample toilets will be available on the route, please see the route map for more details. WATER There will be ample water stations on the route which will be clearly signposted in advance, please see route map for details. Water is supplied in 330ml bottles. Please dispose of bottles as considerately as possible either in the bins provided or at the side of the Lakeside Way. EARLY RACE WITHDRAWAL/ TIME LIMITS Should you need to withdraw during the race you will be able to access transport at a number of points to return to the start area at Kielder Waterside Park. YOU MUST REPORT to EVENT INFORMATION or a RACE MARSHAL at the finish line to advise them that you have withdrawn from the race. BY CAR If you are using SATNAV please use the postcode and address for Kielder Waterside Park, Kielder, NE48 1BT. Signage will be clear on the main road for all three event car parks and marshals will direct you accordingly. Please note only disabled parking is permitted at Leaplish Waterside Park over the weekend. Approximate travel times to Kielder: From the A69 junction at Hexham – 50 minutes From Otterburn – 40 minutes From Carlisle – 1 hour 30 minutes CAR PARKING The event centre is located at Kielder Waterside Park. A number of car parks are situated within a short walk or bus journey to Kielder Waterside Park which you will be directed to on your approach. All car parking is free of charge for competitors; the shuttle buses will run from Kielder Village and Hawkhirst dropping off at Kielder Waterside Park. Please ensure you allow enough time to park your car and take the bus to the start line. Car parking and shuttle buses are free for competitors presenting a RACE NUMBER, please have this visible on arrival.   • 10K ROUTE The Kielder 10K will start at 13:00. Please assemble at the start area behind the RBR competitors at Kielder Waterside Park no later than 12:40. The route follows a 10K circuit around the beautiful Bull Crag Peninsula, finishing along the Lakeside Way. The full route can be viewed at www.kieldermarathon.com. Distance markers will be at every KM to keep you on track.

    RUN BIKE RUN ROUTEThe Run Bike Run starts at Kielder Waterside Park at 13:00 shortly before the Kielder 10K. You must be in the RBR designated start area at least 20 minutes before the start.

    The Run Bike Run Route will follow the Lakeside Way around Kielder Water. The full route can be viewed at www.Kieldermarathon.com.Please be aware that the Lakeside Way is a winding, undulating path with a loose surface. Please take care when negotiating bends and downhill sections on a bike. More technical sections are clearly signposted. All cyclists must wear a helmet when riding.

    RUN BIKE RUN TRANSITION All competitors should arrive in plenty of time at Kielder Village to deposit their bike at Transition 1. Your bike/ helmet etc will be placed at your designated number position. Please make sure your bike number is securely attached. Your kit box will be transported to transition two in time for completion of your bike leg. Your bike will be taken back to transition one at Kielder Village on completion of your bike leg.

    Transport is provided from the finish at Leaplish to Kielder Village for all competitors, where you will be reunited with your bike.

    RUN BIKE RUN TEAMAll parking and registration for the RBR Team event is at Kielder Village. After parking, please register at Transition 1 as a Team. The first leg competitor will be transported to the start at Leaplish with all individual RBR competitors. The bike leg competitor and third leg competitor will remain at Transition 1 at Kielder village.

    Third leg runners will be taken from Transition 1 to Transition 2 after the race has started. Transport will be available to Leaplish for leg one and two competitors if they wish to be at the finish to collect your medal and t-shirt. All competitors will then be transported to Kielder Village on completion of the event to be reunited with bikes and vehicles.

    FINISH LINEOnce you have crossed the finish line you will be guided to the marquee where you will collect your medal, t-shirt and goody bag. You will then be directed to the secure baggage area; please remember to show your race number to gain access. Active Northumberland Kielder Marathon Event marquee activities • Massage pre and post-race will be available with Physio & Therapy therapists at a cost of £10 for 15 minutes or £20 for 30 minutes. These can be pre booked when registering online or on a first come first served on the day.• Local produce and refreshments • First Aid

    RESULTS SERVICEResults will be available at www.chiptiming.co.uk as soon as possible after the event. Here you can enter the event name in the search criteria to find your time. Please note that results will not be live until after the events on Sunday 8th October.

    RACE PHOTOSOfficial race photos will be available from www.AWOLADVENTURE.COM within 48 hours of the final event. You will be able to download these for FREE, just search for your photo by entering your race number or surname.

    FURTHER INFORMATION Mobile phone reception around Kielder Water is very poor, even non-existent in some areas.     REMEMBER DO NOT stray into the wider forest, Kielder has minimal light pollution and as a result, has the darkest night skies in England. Whilst perfect for stargazing, this does mean it goes dark very quickly.
