The Boynton Beach Recrea on & Parks Department is commi ed to
offering parents a quality a erschool program that provides a safe
and nurturing environment for their children. The Department’s
team of seasoned, knowledgeable and friendly professionals have
consistently ensured that children enjoy a unique learning
experience at Kids Club.
This school year promises to be no different. Yes, free
transporta on, affordable pricing, snacks, hot meals and fun will s ll
be staples of what is offered. But we will take a broader approach to
the program curriculum, which is why we believe this year’s program
is primed to be our best year yet.
The curriculum has been forma ed to introduce diverse topics for
the Fall and Winter/Spring months. This variety of ac vi es will
s mulate kids to ac on and crea vity.
Parents can expect to receive a monthly calendar with specific
subject themes including suppor ng ac vi es. For example,
par cipants will:
get a deeper exposure of art
learn how to swim
understand the importance of making proper dietary choices through cooking classes
be introduced to the fundamentals of a variety of sports
play organized games compe vely
and have fun!
Kids Club is held at the Art Center and Hester Center. Both facili es
are licensed by the Department of Children and Families/Palm Beach
County Health Department. Furthermore, staff has also met DCF/
Health Department standards to serve as qualified program
providers.

By registering for Kids Club, you can be assured that your child is in a safe environment where he or she can learn, grow and play. Kids Club offers a wide variety of ac vi es including indoor and outdoor games, arts & cra s, homework support and snack me.
GOALS 1. Provide quality care that supports the need of the family. 2. Promote academic achievement and success. 3. Foster healthy lifestyles through increased awareness of health, nutri on and wellness. 4. Provide children with the life skills necessary for a successful transi on to adolescence. 5. Offer a variety of ac vi es that allow children to explore new interests with an open mind. 6. Deliver the program in a posi ve environment with safety, support and care.
Kids Club Guide
Positive Youth Development Defini on Ac vi es will be planned that will help children develop a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and empowerment. The youth development strategies focus on giving each child the chance to form rela onships with peers and staff, build skills and exercise their leadership abili es. Outcomes Children will gain: 1) Confidence – a sense of self‐worth
and a belief in their capacity to succeed
2) Character – taking responsibility; a sense of independence and individuality
3) Connec on – safety, structure and development of posi ve bonds with others
4) Competence – an ability to act effec vely in various environments

The Kids Club curriculum focuses on 5 main topics or themes: Posi ve Youth Development, Academics & Interests, Health and Wellness, Sports Skills & Drills and Art Apprecia on. The staff developed this curriculum to ensure that par cipants will have a well‐rounded educa onal and social experience that will be filled with fun. By enrolling in Kids Club, you’ve made the best investment possible in your child. Now more than ever, children need the support of caring adults during the cri cal a erschool hours. Kids Club can supply that care, along with great ac vi es that foster physical development, independence and teamwork.
Academics & Interests Defini on Kids Club recognizes the importance of educa on and the workload assigned to students. We provide me each day for homework and we engage students in structured educa onal games. Outcomes. Parents can expect their children to be introduced to mind‐s mula ng games designed to encourage learning while having fun. Guest instructors will visit to provide a wide variety of modules provided free of charge through Children’s Services Council and Prime Time. Health and Wellness Defini on Being healthy is a state of complete physical, mental and social well‐being. Age‐appropriate physical ac vity, supervised play and nutri on tools and games are designed to strengthen your child and provide educa on and helpful ps to keep your child healthy and
happy. Outcomes Changing habits can be fun as we establish simple and achievable goals. Each small change will add up to a healthier child. Sports Skills and Drills Defini on The Kids Club Sports Skills component consists of 8 core sports that will be taught over 4‐week periods. Physical ac vity is the most obvious benefit of sports par cipa on. But par cipa on in sports also builds self‐esteem and confidence, mo vates children to excel academically and helps build social skills. Outcomes Each par cipant will be taught the basic skills and fundamentals required to play each sport. They will be measured and tested on their knowledge of each sport through various compe ve games & contests. Art Appreciation Defini on Visual arts are an essen al part of a child’s educa on. Exposure to art gives children a unique means of expression, capturing their passions and emo ons, and allowing them to explore new ideas, subject ma er, and cultures. Kids Club helps kids to see and feel life in full color. Outcomes Children will learn to paint, draw and create projects with recycled and environmental materials.
