Savannah
Save the Savannah!
The Savannah is different to other biomes because there is a lot of life there, like Cheetahs, African Wild Dogs, Koalas and large migratory animals. Their diversity is amazing. Scientists believe that many of the secrets of survival are locked in the Savannah. Many of the animals are known to function in packs like lions.
The Food Chain The food chain in the Savannah is huge. This is important because it also speaks to survival and how one species is dependent on another.

Benefits of Keeping the Biome
Large food source, easy for survival.
Large open space of land.
Small amount of humans.
Scientific Studies…
Scientific studies on evolution of species: they change, they don’t die off.
Scientific studies, the animals have to adapt to dramatic climate change, interdependent food chain of many species.
Animal Species
There are a lot of different animal species living in the Savannah. Most of the animals have to adapt to this weather because of the dramatic climate changes, like in the summer its really cold and in the winter its really hot. Some of the animals travel in packs like zebras.
Plant Species
We have selected these three plant species because we thought that they are very interesting. The Baobab, the Gum Tree Eucalyptus, and the Umbrella Thorn Tree. Scientists believe that part of the Gum Tree Eucalyptus can be used for medicine. If you look at the Baobab, it looks like it is grown out of the ground up side down. The Umbrella Thorn Tree is a great tree for animals to lay under, for shade.
