“SOUND” AND “FAITHFUL” “Sound” and “faithful” are two good adjectives that, by usage, have
been redefined.
“Sound” means “healthy” and “whole.” By usage it has come to mean,
“agrees with me on a specific list of issues.” Some cantankerous church
splitters have been called “sound.”
“Faithful” covers a whole life-style, “walking in the light” and “walk in
the footsteps of the faith our father Abraham had.” As it has come to be
used, it just means “regularly attends church.” One who was always in
congregational assemblies and often served or led was found to have had
several sexual affairs over a period of several years. Someone said, “And
all that time he was a faithful member of the church.” -Cecil May Jr., Preacher Talk
To Kirsten McFarland for being named “Librarian of the Year” for
the Springfield Public Schools.
To Tim Stockstill on his recent retirement from Kraft Foods. It sure
is nice to see Tim on Sunday mornings!
To Debbie Crawford’s parents who celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday.
Our 2019 Summer Series This year’s Summer Series will begin Wednesday, June 5, and run through
August 28. The study will be “What The Lord Would Say to His People in Our
World” based on the Minor Prophets. Ken Burton from the Mountain Home Church of Christ will be our first speaker. Please plan
to be present for this important series. You will be blessed!
