Section1:GeneralRules(allsports)

A)PersonalandTeamConduct

1. Participantsarerequiredtorepresentthemselvesandtheirrespectiveschoolswithrespectanddignity.

2. AnyteamorindividualinvolvedindestructiveornegativebehavioratPost-SecondaryGames2011eventsorvenues,includinghotelsand

accommodations,willbeejectedfromthetournamentatthediscretionoftheAdvisoryCommittee.SpiritDepositsmayalsobeforfeited.

3. ThePSGCommitteereservestherighttodisqualifyanyteambasedonthebehaviorofanygiventeammemberofthatparticularteam.

4. Alcohol,smokingand/orotherbannedsubstancesarePROHIBITEDandarenottobeconsumedorusedinthedressingroomsoranywhereinthe

gymsorsurroundingareas.Failuretocomplywiththisrulewillresultintheexpulsionoftheplayer(s)fromtheTournamentandpossible

suspensionoftheteam(s).Arefereemayejectaplayer/teamif,athis/herdiscretion,he/shedeemstheplayer/teamtobeundertheinfluenceof

alcoholorillegalsubstances.

B)StartingoftheGame

1. Arepresentativefromeachteam(coach/captain)isrequiredtocheck-inatthescoretablepriortoeachgame.Heretheymustfilloutgameroster

sheetsfullyandaccurately.

2. Itisrecommendedthatbothteamsbedressedandreadytoplay10minutesbeforethescheduledstartoftheirgame.Allgamesstartatthe

timepublishedintheschedule.

3. Alateteamwillbegivenagraceperiodoffive(5)minutespastthescheduledstarttime,whichwillbedeductedfromthetotalplayingtime.

4. Anyteamwithouttherequirednumberofplayerswithin5minutesofthescheduledtimewilldefaultthatgame.Ifanyteammemberisindoubt

abouttheireligibility,theyshouldspeakwiththeirteamcaptain/coach,

theScorekeeper,oranyoneonthePSGcommitteeimmediately.

5. Ifbothteamsarelate,bothwilldefaultandnopointswillbeawarded.6. TeamsdefaultingagameforanyreasonwillhavehalftheirSpiritDepositforfeited.

7. Ifplayers,teamofficials,gametimekeeper,etc.showupforagameinaconditionwhichintherefereesopinion,renderthemunabletotakepart,therefereemaydefaultthegame.

8. Withrespecttodangerousplayingconditions,thedecisionofwhethertobeginorcontinueagameissolelythedecisionofthereferees.The

Commissionaireshallrescheduleagamepostponedforanyreasonattheearliestpossibletimepriortotheendoftheroundrobin.Ifmorethanone

halfremainstobeplayed,thentheentiregameshallbereplayed.Ifless

thanonefullperiodremainstobeplayed,thenonlytheunfinishedportionofthegameshallbeplayed.

C)CoachesandCaptains

1. EachteammusthaveadesignatedTeamCaptainand/orCoach.2. ItistheresponsibilityofeachTeamCaptain/Coachtoensurethatallplayersoftheirteamarefullyeligibletoparticipate.

3. EachteammustidentifytheirTeamCaptainand/orCoachatthebeginningofeachgame.Ifthecaptainisnotpresent,theteamwillnominateaplayertobeactingcaptainforthatgame.Thispersonwilltake

onalldutiesandresponsibilitiesastheactualcaptain.Thispersonwillbe

identifiedastheactingcaptainonthescoresheet.

4. ONLYTHECAPTAIN/COACHshouldbespeakingwiththerefereesduringthegametime.PlayerswhowishtodiscussanyissuewitharefereemustasktheCaptainorCoachtospeakontheirbehalf.

5. ItistheresponsibilityofeachTeamCaptain/Coachtofilloutthegamerostersheetfullybeforeeachgameandsignittoaffirmtheeligibilityandinformationofeachplayerontheroster.

6. TeamCaptainsandCoachareexpectedtoknowandunderstandthegeneralandspecificrulesfortheirsport.Theymustabidebythem,andensurethattheirteamisawareofthemandtheirconsequences.Ifthereis

anyconfusionregardingtherules,pleasecontactthePSGcommittee.

7. ItistheTeamCaptain'sandCoachsdutytoknowhis/herdutiesandresponsibilitiesbeforethegamebegins.

Section2:SpecificRules(Kickball)

A)TeamsandPlayers

1. Thepitchingteamcanhaveamaximumof7playersontheplayingareaandaminimumof5,andonlyoneplayerperbase.Ifatanytimeateamhaslessthan5playersforagame,thegameisadefault.

2. Thekickingteammustcyclethroughtheirrosterfordeterminingthenextkicker;arosterordermustbedeterminedatthebeginningofthegame.

3. Itshallbetheresponsibilityoftheawayteamtomakealternatesweaterarrangementswhenthereisaconflictbetweentwoteamcolours.

4. Eachplayermustwearmatchingcolourstobeeligibletoplay.

B)Equipment

1. Propergymattiremustbeworntoparticipate(nojeansorpants/shortswithzippers).Properathleticfootwearforthesportisrequired(Running

shoeswithnon-markingsoles-nostreetshoes,boots,dressshoes,barefeet,orsandalsetc).

2. Nojewellery(unlessproperlytapeddown),non-elasticheadbands,orhardsupportbracesareallowedduringgametime.Captainswillbewarnedatthebeginningofthegametohavealltheirplayersremovesuch

items.Duringthegame,playersfoundwithsuchitemswillbeaskedtoleaveplayuntiltheitemisremoved.

3. Allplayersmusthaveapinnie/jerseywithadefinedandseparatenumberonit,andmustbeincontrastingcolourtotheopposingteam.Pinnieswillbeprovidedifnecessary.

4. AStandardkickballwillbeprovidedforeachgame.

C)GameLengths

1. Round-Robingameswillconsistof3inningsandwillbecappedat30minutes.

2. Maximum10runsscoredperinning,exceptforthefinalinning.3. Playoffgamewillconsistof4and5inninggames,cappedat40minutes.Finalswillnothaveatimelimit.

4. Duringround-robingames,atiewillstand.5. Inthecaseofatieduringplayoffs,extrainningswillbeplayed.

D)Gameplay

1. Rulesforkickballfollowcloselytothoseoftraditionalbaseball,thedifferencebeingthatinsteadofabaseball,alargebouncyballisused;insteadofstickingtheballwithabat,theballiskicked.

2. PlayersofthepitchingteammuststayBEHINDthepitcheruntiltheballiskicked.

3. Thepitchercannotbouncetheballintothebatter;itmustrolledassmoothlyaspossible.Therefereewilldetermineifthequalityofpitchisfairornotduringdisputes.

4. Oneinningconsistsofeachteamhavingaturnpitchingandkicking.Oncethekickingteamhasconcededthreeouts,theteamsswitchsides.

5. ARunnerisoutifheistouchedwiththeballbeforetouchingabase.6.

Ifamemberofthepitchingteamcatchestheballbeforeittouchesthegroundafterbeingkicked,itresultsinanout.

7. OneRuniswhenarunnermakesitsuccessfullybacktohomebase.8. Maximum10runsscoredperinning,exceptforthefinalinning.When10runsareachieved,theteamsswitchsides.

9. Nobunting(meaning,theballhastogoareasonabledistancewhenyoukickit.)

10.Threefoulballsresultinastrikeoutandcountsasoneout.11.Notonlycanrunnersbetaggedout,buttheballcanalsobethrownatthemsimilartododgeball.Kickingtheballatthemdoesnotcount,andnothrowingtheballattheheadorgroinarea.

12.Oncetheballhitsarunner,therunnerisout,butplaycontinues.Oncetheballisreturnedtothepitcher,allplayisdead.

13.Noleadingofforstealingbases.14.Noblockingrunners(aka'zonedefence')betweenbases.15.Disputedplayswillberesolvedbythereferee.

E)Defaults

1. Ifateamfailstoappearwithaminimumoffiveplayerswithinfiveminutespastthescheduledstartofthegame,theywilldefaultthegametotheopposition.

2. Thewinningteaminadefaultedgamewillbegiven2pointsanda5-0victoryorthescorethatstoodatthetimeofdefaultifthenon-defaultingteamwasaheadatthetime.

3. Ifbothteamsendupdefaultingthegame,bothteamswillincura5-0loss.4. DefaultsandSuspensionsmayresultinalossofSpiritDeposit.

F)TournamentStandings

1. Inroundrobinplay,standingsshallbedecidedonthefollowingpointsystem:

- 2pointsforawin- 1pointforatie- 0pointsforaloss

2. Playoffgameswillfollowtheplayoffbracketprovidedandwillbesingleelimination.

3. TiebreakingprocedureswillbeusedwhenevernecessaryinTournamentStandings.Runsforandrunsagainstwillbelookedatfordeterminingtie-breakersinthestandingsinthatorder.

G)FoulandFairBalls

Itsfoulif:

1. It'skickedandlandsinfairterritoryBEFORE1stor3rdbase,thenbouncesout.

2. It'skickedandlandsinfoulterritory.3. It'skickedintofoulterritoryandsomeonetriestocatchitbutitdrops(doesn'tmatterwhereitlands,fairorfoul,aslongasthepersonorobject

ithitsisin/standinginfoulterritory.)

Itsfairif:

1. It'skickedintofairterritory.2. It'skicked,landsinfairterritoryAFTER1stor3rdbasethenproceedstobounceout.
