CFAA Participation In Lakeland Airport Disaster Drill
On Thursday, Feb.18, thirty six CFAA students participated in the Lakeland Airport Mass Cas-ualty Exercise. The drill is an FAA requirement every three years to demonstrate the com-munities capability to cope with a major disaster. Several first responders, local police and fire rescue departments also were in attendance. The CFAA students acted as victims on the crash scene while others served as distraught family members, local press and observers. Some members utilized their acting skills to make the exercise more realistic. As aviation students, they learned how an air carrier air-port develops plans and trains for emergencies. Airport management was very complimen-tary as to the tasks that they performed!
