    About The University Khmelnitsky national university (KhNU) is one of the leading higher

    institutions of Podilya region, has the 4th level of accreditation.

    The University was founded in 1962. Nowadays KhNU consists of 7 faculties,45 departments with 862 faculty members, 73 of them are Doctors of Sciences,Professors, 453 are Candidates of Sciences.

    The student body consists of 9 938 students, including 5 463 students at thefull-time department, 4229 students at the part-time and distancedepartments.

    The University trains specialists in 43 humanitarian, economic and technicalmajors.

    The Grad school trains scientific personnel in 21 Candidate of Sciences majorsand 4 Doctoral ones. The University features five Specialized Scientific Boardsfor the defense of Doctoral and Candidates theses, where within three lastyears there have been defended 10 Doctoral theses and about 100 Candidatesones.

    Introduction ECTS Nowadays the University uses unified curricula of training specialists

    in all 36 areas, adapted to ECTS standards.

    Within 20062008 there were conducted the development andacademic application of the form of a students individual academicsyllabus.

    The advantages of the new document are as follows:

    availability of the information about core and elective courses, at this thelist of the latter is formed directly by the student under the guidance of anacademic supervisor for each academic year;

    availability of the additional information about the courses which a

    student studied at partner institutions, additional courses and credits,accumulated by the student for such activities as scientific-research work,publishing articles, theses of the speech, participation in studentsconferences etc.

    Advantages of ECTS introduction Increase of the personal responsibility of a student for the

    process of choosing an individual training trajectory andevaluation of the personal academic progress, ultimateeducational goals.

    The students can individually select not only the trajectoryof mastering the individual syllabi, but also Higherinstitutions, countries, where they plan to continue theireducation.

    Increase of the motivation for studying. Application of standardized forms of objective pedagogical

    control.

    Development of the new and improvement of the existing normative-methodological documents in the part of the description of the resultsof students academic achievements on the competitive basis

    Possibility of immediate monitoring of employers needs on theregional level

    Development of the new and improvement of the existing bachelor andmaster programmes in the fields of informatics and managementaccording to the principles of scientific nature, integrity, systemacy andconsistency, electivness, adaptability, individualization, practical andprofessional orientation according to SQFs and employers needs.
