What is Emotional Intelligence?

Why Does EQ Matter?

• It is the single biggest predictor of performance in the

workplace

• EQ accounts for 58% of performance in all types of

jobs

• More than 90% of top performers in leadership

positions possess a high degree of EQ

• Every point increase in EQ adds $1300 to one’s

annual salary

And for Those Who Say, I Don’t Let My

Emotions Show at Work. . .

• Our brains are built to give

emotions the upper hand

• External stimuli passes through

our limbic system, the emotional

hub, before it reaches the

rational portion of our brain

• The stimuli may not make it to

the rational portion if

“highjacked” in the amygdala
