Together we can do this! THANK YOU to all those parents who are supporting home learning. Thank you to those of you who are trying to work at home, whilst managing your home-learning family. This is not easy. Thank you to the critical workers who have made alternative arrangements so that their children do not have to come into school. And thank you to all those who are in critical roles – working at the front line and continuing to head into work each day. This week we have had a massive 82% attendance through remote learning! This means that children are continuing to learn, continuing to stay connected and continuing to stretch and keep their brains active! We are working hard to develop our remote learning so that it works as best as it can for children and families. We want to support you as much as possible in your new role. Please do get in touch with us if you have any questions or feedback to help us continue to improve. Dear Parent/Carer,

We are very proud of our Kingsbury Green Community and although we are separated by distance, we are

together in spirit and community. Together we can do this!

THANK YOU to all those parents who are supporting home learning. Thank you to those of you who are

trying to work at home, whilst managing your home-learning family. This is not easy. Thank you to the

critical workers who have made alternative arrangements so that their children do not have to come into school. And thank you

to all those who are in critical roles – working at the front line and continuing to head into work each day.

This week we have had a massive 82% attendance through remote learning! This means that children are continuing to learn,

Accelerated Reader and MyOn

MyOn: The table below shows the number of books read on MyOn by each year group.

Looking at the figures, we can say we are definitely a reading school! Year 2, 4 and 6,

welcome to the “over 1,000 club!” Year 1 and 5, you do not have long to go! A remarkable

and notable increase from numbers of book recorded before the winter break. It is

fantastic to see that many of you are accessing MyOn!

As a school, we have spent 1,240 hours of reading since September and finished 7,536

books in total. Can we reach 10,000?

Accelerated Reader: Please remember, children between Year 3 to 6 should be taking an AR quiz once they have completed

reading a book. Reading quizzes help with comprehension and extend children’s learning.Children in Years 3-6 will also be able to

take a quiz on the story time videos by Ms Vora and Miss Windmill.

Free School Meals

Free School Meal Eligibility: Some of our children qualify for a free school meal because their

parent receives qualifying benefits. During the period of school closure, we do not want any of

those families to miss the opportunity to receive the meal they are entitled to.

We have distributed vouchers to cover the first two weeks of term. The voucher is for £15 per

week, per child. Eligible families should have received their vouchers for the last two weeks.

If you believe that you may be eligible for free school meals, even if you have previously applied and

not been successful, please re-check your eligibility using the link below or contact the school office.

Hall of fame!

Take a look at the

quizzes that children

have taken in the last

two weeks! Parents and

children, you are doing

an amazing job!

KEEP QUIZZING!

It’s great to see our

Reception children

enjoying the story

of “The Elves and

the Shoemaker.”

Thank you for

sharing your

thoughts with us

Aaliyah, Zayne

and Max.

Take a look at these letters from our Year 1 children writing to

Barnaby Bear. They will want to make you want to visit London.

And what beautiful handwriting too! Thank you for sharing

Vinuka and Cameron.

Y2 have been learning about recycling and plastic pollution. They are reading the book, “One Plastic Bag”, and wrote to Isatou, the main character, to

give her advice about the problem of plastic pollution in her village.

Great job Kate, Eliza and Ania!

We love the way that Y3 have

captured their Dreams and Goals in

these poems. They have learned to

use rhyming couplets. Keep up the

amazing work Ehsan and Keeyan.

This piece of descriptive writing about “The Highway Man”

from Athith in Y5 gave us goose bumps!
